He does not care about the Constitution.

Again, I believe he's going to try to instigate civil unrest so he will have an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act.

He's pretty much telegraphing it. He's planting the outrageous seed now. It's part of the playbook he's used before.

As we get get closer to November and the polls look dismal......could be a miserable summer.

He will probably continue to do so until he hits on one that he thinks is a winner.

House Speaker welcomes Trump call to ‘take over’ elections, claims Dem wins appear ‘fraudulent’

https://www.democracydocket.com/news-al ... raudulent/
“What you’re hearing from the president is his frustration about the lack of some of the blue states, frankly, of enforcing these things and making sure that they are free and fair elections.”

Johnson then pointed to states like California, where mail-in ballots postmarked by election day are counted up to seven days after, saying the slow tabulation of mailed votes raises suspicions of foul play.

“We had three House Republican candidates who were ahead on election day in the last election cycle, and every time a new tranche of ballots came in, they just magically whittled away until their leads were lost, and no series of ballots that were counted after election day were our candidates ahead on any of those counts,” Johnson said. “It just looks on its face to be fraudulent.”

“Can I prove that? No, because it happened so far upstream,” Johnson added
"I believe there is voting fraud. I don't have any proof. It's just something I feel is true."

"I believe in the existence of elves and fairies. I don't have any proof. It's just something I feel is true."

Meanwhile, in the race for US Senator from TX, March primary:

Attorney General Ken Paxton

Cornyn's career is done and everyone knows it. He's stolen $50+ million from races in NC, ME, MI, and GA and what does he have to show for it?

He's stuck in the mid-20s, doesn't even know if he'll make the runoff, and is set to lose by huge margins even if he does.

"Some establishment Republicans worry that no matter his financial advantage, he will be a serious underdog against Mr. Paxton in the runoff — and that donors’ money would be better spent helping Republicans like Senator Susan Collins of Maine in the fall.”
:---P
Team Cornyn

Ken, when this over, you will have nothing. Which turns out to be the same thing you offered to give Angela in divorce proceedings. This after you cheated on her multiple times.
:---P :---P
‘When This Is Over, You Will Have Nothing’: GOP Senator Salts the Earth in Attack on Ken Paxton

... Texas State Senator Angela Paxton (R) announced that she was filing for divorce from her husband last July.

“Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds. I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage,” she wrote on X at the time. “I move forward with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.”

“Biblical grounds” for divorce typically refers to either adultery or abandonment.

Back in 2023, the attorney general was impeached by the state’s House of Representatives over allegations of corruption, but was acquitted by the state senate. During the proceedings, Paxton’s ex-chief of staff alleged that he had an extramarital affair that he admitted to back in 2018.
Still:
2026 Texas Senate - Republican Primary

RCP Average 9/19 - 1/12

Paxton 29.3
Cornyn 29.0
Hunt 19.0

spread Paxton +0.3
This will be fun. On the Dem side:

2026 Texas Senate - Democratic Primary

3 polls, mixed results, no spread created by RCP. Not vicious like the GQP.

Then, there are the general matchups.

Jasmine Crockett, U.S. representative (2023–present), state representative 2021-2023, Black
James Talarico, state representative (2018–present), White

I assumed the Dems want Paxton to be the nominee since he's such a lunatic asshole, America's worst AG. Maybe not:

2026 Texas Senate

Both Crockett and Talarico narrowly trail Paxton.
Talarico trails Cornyn by 3.
Crockett trails Cornyn by 5.5.
Close. 4 seats to flip. Will TX be one of them? TX?!

Murkowski becomes first Senate Republican to speak out against Trump election bill

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) on Tuesday became the first Republican senator to speak out against a House GOP-drafted bill to require people to show documented proof of citizenship before registering to vote and to show ID to cast a ballot, a top priority of the Trump administration.

Murkowski, a prominent centrist Republican, said the Constitution empowers states to manage federal elections for Senate and the House seats, and warned that imposing sweeping federal requirements on local election officials a few months before Election Day would threaten the integrity of the midterm elections.

... She said the Constitution “clearly” provides states with the authority to regulate the time, place and manner of holding federal elections.

She argued that “one-size-fits-all” mandates from Washington seldom work in her home state.

“Election Day is fast approaching. Imposing new federal requirements now, when states are deep into their preparations, would negatively impact election integrity by forcing election officials to scramble to adhere to new policies likely without the necessary resources,” she said.

“Ensuring public trust in our elections is at the core of our democracy, but federal overreach is not how we achieve this,” Murkowski added.
The House is expected to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act — or the SAVE America Act — on Wednesday. It has passed a similar version of the legislation, previously known as the SAVE Act, multiple times in the past few years.
I can't find where that happened. :headscratch:
Murkowski’s statement comes as Senate conservatives led by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) are pressing Senate GOP leaders to reinterpret the Senate’s filibuster rule to make it easier to pass the law.
 This election manipulation bill may have a manipulated election.
... “Let’s be clear, the SAVE Act is not about securing our elections. It is about suppressing voters. The SAVE Act seeks to disenfranchise millions of American citizens, seize control of our elections, and fan the flames of election skepticism and denialism,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement, vowing Democrats will block the legislation.

I don't know what poll you're looking at, but let's say the question was "Are you concerned about Voter ID" or something like that. You'd probably get most to say "sure, fine, ok, whatever." But suppose you asked "Would you want to vote only in person and at one place on election day?" You''d probably get a different response. And if you asked "Would you want to have to get a special form of ID, not your drivers licence, in order to register to vote?"

All those are potential outcomes from the laughably named "SAVE" act. It's not the ID requirement in itself that's the problem, it's the purpose of changing it. I say show me one election - federal, state, or local, where the outcome was significantly affected by voter IDs or lack thereof, and then we can go from there. I'll wait.

Sounds about right.

Of course, an ignorant, racist, misogynistic and lazy electorate is what DonOld is counting on.

It's what got him elected.
At its core, the SAVE Act would:
Require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship (e.g., passport or birth certificate) to register to vote in federal elections.
Congress.gov
Mandate voters present government-issued photo ID at the polls, with limitations on acceptable forms.
National Women's Law Center
Eliminate most current voter registration methods such as mail-in registration, online registration, automatic registration, and voter drives by requiring in-person verification with original documents.
Center for American Progress
Expose election officials to criminal penalties and private lawsuits if they register someone who fails to present the required documentation.
Bipartisan Policy Center
Require more frequent voter roll maintenance and data sharing with federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security.
National Women's Law Center
🔍 Key Ramifications
📌 1. Significant Barriers to Voter Registration
Millions of eligible voters could face new obstacles:
Over 140 million U.S. citizens don’t have a passport, which the bill often requires as proof of citizenship.
Center for American Progress
Many people — especially women who have changed their last name — may not have citizenship documents that match their current legal name.
Center for American Progress
Voters would need to visit an election office in person with original documents even for routine tasks like updating an address.
Brennan Center for Justice
👉 This could effectively block online and mail-in voter registration, which together account for a large share of all registrations in many states.
Center for American Progress
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 2. Potential Disenfranchisement of Millions
Research from civil rights groups suggests:
Tens of millions of Americans — including low-income individuals, younger voters, rural residents, people of color, tribal citizens, and voters with limited access to documentation — may be unable to meet the requirements.
Brennan Center for Justice +1
Millions who are already registered could be unable to re-register after moving or changing their legal status because they cannot easily access required documents.
Brennan Center for Justice
These impacts would span across political affiliations and demographics.
Brennan Center for Justice
🏛️ 3. Administrative and Legal Challenges
The Act could strain election administration by requiring states to overhaul voter registration procedures quickly and at significant cost — with little federal funding to help.
Bipartisan Policy Center
Failure to comply could expose local election officials to criminal charges and lawsuits, even when they make honest mistakes.
Bipartisan Policy Center
The act’s vague guidelines on how documentation must be presented could lead to inconsistent enforcement across jurisdictions.
Bipartisan Policy Center
🧠 4. Political and Social Debate
Supporters frame the SAVE Act as a way to bolster election integrity by ensuring only citizens vote.
The White House
Opponents argue it would undermine voting rights, disproportionately impact historically marginalized groups, and functionally suppress voter turnout under the guise of combating rare instances of noncitizen voting.
The Washington Post +1
The bill faces strong opposition in the Senate and from civil rights organizations, with prospects of legal challenges if it were enacted.
The Wall Street Journal
🧩 In Summary
The SAVE Act could profoundly change federal voter registration and voting practices in the United States. Its emphasis on strict documentation has far-reaching implications:
Potentially positive (as proponents see it): ✔️ Perceived increase in voter verification and integrity.
✔️ Standardized nationwide proof-of-citizenship requirements.
The White House
Significant concerns (as critics warn): ❌ Millions of eligible voters could be effectively excluded.
❌ Popular registration methods would be disrupted.
❌ Added burdens on voters and election officials.
❌ Risk of increased disenfranchisement for marginalized groups.
Brennan Center for Justice +1

Actually I'm surprised that Fox News hasn't come out and announced that pedophilia isn't such a big deal. If Hannity and Ingraham said this on their shows, I guarantee a hell of a lot of cultists would go right along with it. Hell, look at all the bullshit they've swallowed so far. They'll believe anything if you gear it to their fears, hate, or bigotry. No matter what it is; present it the right way and they'll fall for it.
