Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Dementia Don has already been spending tariff money any way he wants, unless he's pocketing some of it. No congressional appropriations.

I think there's a fair chance Maduro will never get to trial, but if he does and it's with a jury, there's a fair chance he'll walk. Rights to speedy trial have been waived, so the government can basically shuffle feet and let them rot. All Trump snark aside, I really do not see the difference in this and the oppressive criminal actions taken by other people we usually think of as the "bad guys."
Are you suggesting Maduro is innocent and should walk? I do not disagree a NY jury might not convict.
Then what's your explanation for trump pardoning the Honduran president, who was convicted and serving a long prison sentence for the exact same thing trump says Maduro was doing? Tell me why that guy was pardoned by trump. I figure he (trump) got a big payout for doing it. And I'll bet that trump will pardon Maduro about a year after he's convicted and sentenced for another big payout. He'll say it's a gesture of compassion and claim the guy has mended his ways. You and the rest of the cult will swallow it whole, won't you? But I would be curious to know what you think about the pardon given a convicted drug smuggler. Is it Biden's fault? Obama's fault?
Quite frankly, I have not followed that story in detail. If I recall, Trump has said it was not a fair deal. I am sure we will find out more as the situation evolves.

Is it possible that Trump made a poor, hypocritical, decision in pardoning a drug trafficker? Especially given his stance on drugs entering the United States?

Not much to "follow" in it.....the guy was convicted by a jury and sentenced to 45 years for arranging the importation of 400 tons of cocaine into the US over a long period of time. trump says the guy was treated very unfairly (this is laughable in the face of how trump himself continually treats people very unfairly by deporting them without due process) and he gave the guy a pardon. I'm just guessing that trump got a big payday for doing this....nothing else makes any sense. But apparently anything trump says or does is ok with you and the cult.

"Treated unfairly", even if true has not historically been grounds for pardon, although maybe the occasional commutation. The question is whether he was treated legally. Of course Trump doesn't recognize "legal" as a working concept anyway, so it's all arbitrary. Only the money makes sense.

You'd think the details would be present in the official pardon. How long has it been now? There's no more "evolving" of the situation to be had. I think I also agree with your assessment.

Aha, now we know.
Tulsi Gabbard humiliated by cruel rumor floating around White House as Trump drops her
According to officials, the White House was concerned that Gabbard would oppose the president's operation in Venezuela, so she was completely cut out

... In Washington, the Director of National Intelligence - or DNI - is actually an acronym for "Do Not Invite."

... The Trump administration may have iced Gabbard out over her earlier remarks regarding Maduro's authoritarianism. The Hawaii representative at the time was adamantly against any US involvement in Venezuela in 2019, and as recently as last month, she was denouncing "warmongers" who wanted to drag the US into the fight....
Tulsi is more or less covered when the invasion turns out to be yet another Latin American disaster.

Please help me understand how assisting another country fight drug cartels is fascist.
1. Read about the rise of fascism in the 1930's in Europe. Look at what factors contributed to its growth. Consider the major components, such as:

A. "Charismatic Leadership: Leaders like Mussolini ("Il Duce") and Hitler used populist, emotional rhetoric to appeal to disenchanted citizens, presenting simple solutions to complex problems.

B. Key Ideology: Fascism promoted a "bundle of sticks" concept—total national unity under a dictator—emphasizing order, discipline, and military strength.

C. Violence and Totalitarianism: Fascist regimes used paramilitary violence (e.g., Blackshirts) to crush communists and socialists, eventually removing all political opposition and implementing state-driven economies

2. Compare the concepts, leadership style, and objectives to that found in the US now.

3. Look at events and actions deeper than just the surface propaganda like "helping fight cartels"
