Looking back at history I believe Trump beat Hillary because a lot of folks voted against Hillary more than for Trump.
Sure but Hillary wasn't running the next time after Trump was better known. Kamala wasn't that likeable either but we still had a lot of people thinking Trump is OK. Doomed we are.

Remember, a lot of these people think it's quite reasonable to kill their own daughter because she got raped on the street.

Out of town pool #14 - Trump gaggle on AF1 ✈️

Trump gaggled with the pool for about 16 minutes and made some news

Note this was streamed online and to the briefing room but select quotes here:

DID WATCHING DIGNIFIED TRANSFER MAKE YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY ABOUT WAR?

Trump: “No we’re winning the war by a lot. we decimated their whole evil empire. It will continue I’m sure for a little while but I’m very proud of the people.

SENDING IN GROUND TROOPS?

Trump: “I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t think it’s an appropriate question. You know, I’m not going to answer it. Could there be? Possibly, for very good reason. There would have to be a very good reason. I would say if we ever did that they would be so decimated that they wouldn’t be able to fight at the ground level.”

GROUND TROOPS TO SECURE ENRICHED URANIUM?

Trump: “We’ll find out about that. We haven’t talked about it. It was a total obliteration and they haven’t been able to get to it. And at some point maybe we will. It would be a great thing. Right now we’re just decimating them but we haven’t gone after it.

“But something we could do later on. We wouldn’t do it now.”

CONCERNED ABOUT KURDS STAGE A COUP?

Trump: “We’re not looking to the Kurds going in. we’re very friendly with the Kurds as you know but we don’t want to make the war any more complex than it is.”

HAVE YOU RULED OUT KURDS?

Trump: “Yeah I have ruled that out. I don’t want the Kurds going in. I don’t want to see the Kurds get hurt and killed. they’re willing to go in but i’ve told them I don’t want them going in. The war’s complicated enough without getting the Kurds involved.

US RESPONSIBLE FOR GIRLS SCHOOL STRIKE?

Trump: “No in my opinion based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran.”

(Hegseth chimed in: “We’re certainly investigating.”)

Trump: “It was done by Iran. They’re very inaccurate as you know with their munitions. They have no accuracy whatsoever it was done by Iran.”

FOR HOW LONG WILL IRAN WAR CONTINUE?

Trump: “I don’t know. Whatever it takes. But their military is almost non existent. We hit their military itself very hard. Maybe we will maybe we won’t we haven’t made that designation.”

WORRIED ABOUT GAS PRICES?

Trump: “No. This is a short excursion into something that should’ve been done for 47 years. No president had the guts to do it.”

RUSSIA SUPPORTING IRAN?

Trump: “No I haven’t had any indication of that whatsoever. If they are, they’re not doing a very good job because Iran is not doing too well.”

++

Witkoff also took questions:

DO YOU STILL WANT A DEAL?

Witkoff: “There is I think that’s going to be up to the President. But they didn’t seem to be very amenable in those first set of negotiations. They set we have the inalienable right to enrich. They bragged about having 60% enriched fuel enough for 11 bombs. They told me and Jared ‘we’re not going to give you diplomatically what you take militarily.’”

DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE MAX LEVERAGE?

Witkoff: “I think the President has proved that we have.”

Trump: “We’ve got a lot of negotiating leverage. Maybe maximum. But we’re not looking to settle. They’d like to settle, we’re not looking to settle.”

++

Trump also took questions on the US FDC providing insurance to oil/shipping companies; Russian oil sales to India; Using the Strategic Oil Reserve;

So about 20 or so states still have above 50% approval for Trump despite having leopards eating at their own faces. CA is not one of those, at 27% approval. Nor is IL at 33%, NC at 43%, and even SC at 47%.

Trump's done, and does regularly pretty much every other politician (and certainly every President) has done to get tossed out of office, including corruption, scandal, botching the economy, starting wars, blatant violation of law, cover-ups, defiance of Supreme Court. Gone well past where it's not only believable but likely that he could "shoot someone on the street) and not lose supporters.

Ya have to wonder - really, what would it take? What does he have to do to get ousted?

Big losses in the Senate and the dread that will create in the GQP COULD lead to impeachment and conviction. I'm not holding my breath. The Dem tablers at the primary poll said the voters they talked to were excited about saving democracy. We'll see.

You guys are probably going to have settle for another impeachment which will go nowhere in the senate.

Liberals have just under three more years to whine. Then probably the next Presidency too, don't really see a threat. Especially from that mumbling AOC.

‘Nightmare scenario’ looms as global markets head for the biggest oil output disruption in history, top energy guru warns

https://fortune.com/2026/03/08/oil-pric ... -iran-war/
To be sure, the global economy is vastly different than what it was during the oil crises of the 1970s, with the shale revolution transforming the U.S. into an energy powerhouse while top energy-importing countries have become more resilient, Yergin noted.
While other analysts have warned that oil could hit $100 a barrel with the Strait of Hormuz closed, markets aren’t there yet. On Friday, Brent crude settled at $92.69 per barrel, and West Texas Intermediate ended at $90.90.
“Current oil prices in the $90s are far from the worst-case scenario,” Yergin wrote. “But right now, the world is looking at the biggest disruption in oil production in history as well as a resounding shock to global gas markets. The key question for global energy markets now is the duration of this explosive war.”

So far, the U.S. and Iran have shown no signs of backing down. President Donald Trump has demanded “unconditional surrender” and a say in who Iran’s next supreme leader will be. Iran has vowed to continue fighting while expanding its targets to include civilian infrastructure like desalination plants that provide most of the Gulf’s water supply.

Wall Street is also not convinced that Trump can restore ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. He announced a $20 billion reinsurance program for oil tankers and said the U.S. Navy will escort tankers through the strait if necessary.
But the U.S. and its Gulf allies have had trouble shooting down Iran’s Shahed drones, which have hit several major military targets.

“Trying to protect so many ships is a massive logistical undertaking,” Robin Brooks, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, wrote in a Substack note Friday. “All Iran needs to do is to sneak through a couple of drones to blow up one ship and we’re going from what is currently a very serious incident to a massive oil shock. In short, I don’t think US assurances of navy escorts are all that credible. There’s just way too many oil tankers that need protecting
