Iran War

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

That's 6:00 here. Plenty of time to ignore him during dinner and still catch Survivor.

Well, guessing he's not going to declare victory as we have another aircraft carrier heading over there that left today.

And, he's gonna preempt Survivor. :ateeth:

Load up on some stocks because he's about to declare victory again. Sell before the market closes on Friday.

Probably couldn't pick a time when he would get fewer viewers. At 6:00, you've got people eating or cooking or going out; everybody who didn't leave work early is sitting on the freeway; lots of people are still at Happy Hours; everybody else is outside walking the dog, walking themselves, going for a run or bike ride and/or packing the kids off to soccer or whatever.

And then there's the matter of the 24% approval of Trump, most of whom live 600 miles north of here, living in their imaginary state of Jefferson in their imaginary world.

He doesn't care about Left Coast viewers (voters) and a later time would preempt a new episode of Chicago P.D. .

The Iranian woman, Niaz Abadani, explained some of what has gone on for the past 47 years, including women not having rights, and she said she had been imprisoned by the regime. She said she couldn't even go to see her father's grave because of the regime. "I left as a refugee! You should think about it!" Abadani asserted.

At the end of the clip, you could see she was reaching her, that what started as a smirk was fading, that she was touching her.

Then what Abadani said later was pretty remarkable.

She had reached her and informed her. She said that the lady put down the banner and said that she didn't know everything that had been taking place in Iran. She cried, and they cried together. The lady said she would not be carrying that banner anymore. Abadani was so happy that she was able to get through to her and said she believed it came from a place of not knowing.

Trump addresses the nation in order to... well, we're not quite sure. Reassure us? Who knows. But anyway, looks like oil is up quite a bit and the market is down! Thank you for your attention to this matter 🤡. Fuel in our region topping 4/gallon shortly?

Tolerant liberals probably prefer this. Politically correct at their finest.

A masked speaker urged the crowd to do 'everything in our power to bring the United States to its knees,' footage posted Tuesday by independent journalist Frankie Scales showed.

'For every US military base that crumbles and for every US soldier who returns home in a casket, we cheer,' he said.

That prompted a wave of loud applause from the other anti-American protesters.

He went on to praise several terrorist groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah, during the rally as his fiery speech continued.

'These popular voices on the ground spend every waking moment in direct confrontation with Zionism,' he said. 'And they rely on a strong Iranian state to maintain their fighting capacity.'

After he finished his remarks, the man was confronted by Scales, who asked him if he hated America.

'May a Hamas rocket blow up your family's home,' the protester replied.

Hegseth ousts Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hegseth-ou ... dy-george/
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has asked Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to step down and take immediate retirement, sources familiar with the decision told CBS News.

One of the sources said Hegseth wants someone in the role who will implement President Trump and Hegseth's vision for the Army.

...

Hegseth has fired over a dozen senior military officers, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. C.Q. Brown, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Slife and the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse.
Ousted by a daytime TV host.

Could it be related to the Iran war? Refusal to do something stupid perhaps?

Also, the spot price (what's actually being paid for it right now for immediate purchase, not the future contract price that's usually referenced) for brent crude up to 141/barrel. The highest since 2008.

And apparently they "double tapped" it.

First strike, then hit it again when rescue workers were on the scene.

Pretty much every major news site has an article about the Iranians shooting down a US fighter jet on the front page.

Can you guess what news site as of the time of this post has absolutely no mention of it?

There is absolutely no mention of it even in the section titled "Iran War" of which this event is highly relevant.
