DonOLD47 fired/quit

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

It's amazing how under the radar she's gone with all the other stuff happening.
In normal times this scandal would be dominating the headlines.

Hamilton was first tapped to lead the Federal Emergency Management Agency at the start of Trump’s second term – when the administration was aggressively pursuing plans to eliminate the agency and shift responsibility for disaster response to the states.

But Hamilton soon clashed with then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski, the longtime Trump ally helping her run the department, which oversees FEMA. Lewandowski, in particular, believed Hamilton wasn’t moving quickly or forcefully enough, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Hamilton, meanwhile, increasingly balked at the plan to scrap the agency, arguing that while FEMA needed major reforms, preserving it was ultimately in the public’s best interest.

Here's some irony for ya' - I started to read an article about Ka$h Patel's job insecurity and related to his somewhat desperate attempt to sue everybody who has commented on his drinking habits, and particularly the clumsy and error-filled lawsuit he drafted against MS-NOW. Part of the point of the article was that Patel was claiming sloppy inaccurate reporting in a complaint that was sloppy and inaccurate. And the writer was having fun with it, even making a joke about how Patel had probably written if after 8 IPA's. No real irony so far - but the writer then thought nobody knew what IPA is and defined it as "an Indian beer." Seriously? Fans of "India Pale Ale" don't have to know its history to enjoy a hoppy beer, but at least don't spread incorrect information because of your sloppy and inaccurate reporting. IPA was created in England back in the late 1700's as a beer that could withstand long trips over to the British troops in India as well as the heat.

:D Beer is very serious business. Believe this, in the midst of a DonOLD-created war:
Navy Secretary John Phelan is leaving, Pentagon says, in latest departure of a top defense leader

... Navy Undersecretary Hung Cao will become acting secretary of the Navy, Parnell said.
:laughing-rolling:
The sudden departure comes just a day after Phelan addressed a large crowd of sailors and industry professionals at the Navy's annual conference in Washington, D.C., and spoke with reporters on his ongoing agenda.
:wtf: Incompetently fired.

Hung Cao was running for some office in VA last year or in 24. I don't remember what he was running for but he lost. I do remember seeing one of his ads. It said he came to the US in the mid 70's as a refugee from Vietnam and became a naval officer. I suppose that's plausible. But considering this is the age of golden stupid, I suspect Hung Cao was taken directly from Old MacDonals's transgender barnyard and plopped down in the office of Secretary of the Navy. It's not every day one confronts a Hung Cao.

Spotlight On $17-Billion Trump-Class Warship After Pentagon Axes Navy Chief
US Navy Secretary John Phelan was sacked Wednesday reportedly amid disputes with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth over the expensive new Trump-class warships; Hegseth reportedly favours mass-produced uncrewed ships to boost numbers.

I don't think this trump class battleship will ever be built. It takes years to design it and if the navy wants changes, that will add more time to the process. Then once designs are approved, it will take another few years to actually build one. I think what will end up happening is that the defense department will just waste a lot of money on this only to have the entire program cancelled by the next president.

The story of many if not most of Trump's ummm, "accomplishments."
It's going to take a lot of sweeping change to even start to undo the damage he's done. But the good part is that while other Presidents in the past may have been constrained by a cantankerous Congress, Trump did set the precedent for doing whatever he wants and take his chances in court. Following that precedent could make some repair efforts go quicker.

 Nixon wishes he'd had a Congress like trump has. The way Republicans have supplicated themselves to trump is all the evidence required to realize this is a cult. Sure, they do so because of a loud minority of their constituents or in some cases a loud majority of them. But none of those yelling for trump realize what he truly represents, which is everything they should be against. He just lies a lot. Some people like to be lied to. trump looks on his little battleship plan as if its a building or something. He has no idea what goes into the kind of time and expense involved in creating a new class of US naval surface ships. Hell, we're llucky he's not fixated on submarines. They take even longer.

There are still a very few limits.
Trump Border Patrol Chief Abruptly Quits Amid Report He Traveled Abroad To Solicit *** Workers

... His departure, effective immediately, comes amid allegations he regularly traveled abroad to solicit *** workers, reportedly bragging about the conduct to Border Patrol colleagues, according to a Washington Examiner report.
I'll bet the Border Patrol paid for the trips, and it never gets investigated.
An investigation into his alleged conduct was terminated while Kristi Noem oversaw the Department of Homeland Security.

The Washington Examiner spoke with six current and former Border Patrol employees who said Banks traveled to Colombia and Thailand to solicit *** workers there.
Friendly Fire Barbie could have cosplayed as a Thailand sex worker . . . or maybe she did.
“I don’t know how he became the chief of the Border Patrol with his character,” one agent told the outlet on condition of anonymity. “He’s going to third-world countries to take advantage of poor ******* women, which disgusts the hell out of me.” ...
:---P  It's  . What word is bleeped there? :headscratch: 'poor fucking women' seems too literal.
