Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Tyler Robinson will face enhancements to some of his charges because children were present. Okay, but maybe there should also be enhancements for adults who take children to Charlie's hateful events.

It's like they had a fascist game plan sitting on the shelf awaiting an event like the execution of Charlie.
Aaron Rupar

Stephen Miller: “We are going to channel all the anger we have over the organized campaign to led to this assassination to uproot and dismantle these terrorist networks … The organized doxxing campaigns. The organized riots. The organized street violence. The organized of dehumanization. Vilification. Posting people’s addresses. Combining that with messaging designed to trigger and incite violence and the actual organized cells that carry out and facilitate the violence. It is a vast domestic terror movement. With God and as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks, and make America safe again for the American people. It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.”

 As we've proved most American political violence comes from the right. No small measure has been inspired by hateful Stephen Miller.
Gavin Newsom

Wake up, America.

Stephen Miller has already publicly labeled the Democratic Party as a terrorist organization.

This isn’t about crime and safety.

It’s about dismantling our democratic institutions.

We cannot allow acts of political violence to be weaponized and used to threaten tens of millions of Americans.

Hateful rhetoric.
We are watching a dystopian nightmare unfold in front of our very eyes.
But if you call them fascist they will cry.

Moron with a gun:

81-year-old charged with murder of Uber driver he mistakenly believed was a scammer, police say

Without a gun making him a "tough guy" he would have called the cops like any sane citizen would have done. Now, he'll die in prison.

Clark County Prosecutor Daniel Driscoll told reporters after the verdict that both families lost loved ones because of the scam.

“The really sad part about this is that we know there are still criminals out there," he said. “We know that the scammers, the folks who started this, haven’t been brought to justice.”

I don't think Republicans are responsible for this particular shooting (Charlie Kirk), but I do see that right wingers, including Republicans, are responsible for the majority of divisive hate-mongering rhetoric, based largely on lies, from the basement dwelling trolls all the way to the White House.
"Prove me wrong"
Then, it's mostly the GQP that's responsible for our gun culture and for the widespread availability of guns. Own it, cons.

Kirk will not have the opportunity for a rebuttal, a cowardly white liberal from a rooftop was afraid to have a conversation with him.

New details released in Rutherford County shooting that left woman dead, teen injured

Image
Robert Lee Scruggs III, 46, is charged with felony voluntary manslaughter.

A suspect and victim have been identified after a shooting between neighbors in Rutherford County left one person dead and a teenager critically injured Wednesday afternoon, authorities confirmed.

... One victim, 27-year-old Kirsten Teaster, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. A second victim, a 17-year-old juvenile, was also suffering from a gunshot wound (to the head) and was taken to a trauma-level medical center, where they are receiving treatment, authorities said....

The suspect was identified Thursday as 46-year-old Robert Lee Scruggs III, who is charged with felony voluntary manslaughter, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. As of Thursday, Scruggs appeared before a judge and was given a $100,000 secured bond....
Broadcast TV: The dispute was over a puppy on the shooter's property.

Puppy poo, seriously? No gun = someone getting their ass kicked and misdemeanor assault charges, probably, not 3 lives and families ruined forever.

Karma:
Former NRA CEO must repay $4.3 million for misappropriating money, court rules
Wayne LaPierre is also barred from serving as an NRA officer or director.

... The decision is a victory for New York Attorney General Letitia James, who sued the NRA, LaPierre and other current and former officers for self-dealing, alleging they violated New York charities laws by mismanaging the NRA's funds.

... “Wayne LaPierre and other senior NRA leaders broke the law by funneling millions of dollars in lavish perks to themselves and their families,” James said in a statement celebrating the appeals court decision.

"This decision upholds the jury’s verdict and is another victory in our efforts to ensure that LaPierre is held accountable for his illegal self-dealing,” James said....
