I am going to make a prediction about the GOP nominee for 2028.

The lovefest between Rubio and Vance will end. Don't know when, but we will know it when it happens. It will be ugly and it will be challenge to unify the GOP for the general. I am depending on the dems to nominate a left wing loon to assist the GOP.

While Supes is ummm, "considering" his response, I'll throw in what I think a right-wing loon is. First, it's not a traditional Republican, who likely supports a smaller governmental structure, fewer or less restrictive regulations, lower taxes, corporate welfare, and an unnecessarily big military. Those guys are not loons, they just have a different set of priorities from me and most Democrats. The loons are those who have no respect for the Constitution or rule of law, who happily support violation of clearly stated civil rights, who push niche social issues as a top priority and have no real plan or policy for wide-reaching national issues such as the economy, healthcare, or responsible foreign affairs.

Sorry, Martina, the electoral college was never "a good idea". It was a forced compromise with slaver states. It does not produce POTUSes from more than a handful of populous states and it does not share the election power. Instead, all campaign attention goes to a few swing states, whether populous or not. It's an abomination to the ideal of 'one person, one vote'.
