I agree that Kerry's swiftboating was a good example of massive perception change - and there are many others. Problem is, it never has worked with Tru*p, and not for lack of trying. The first mistake we all made was thinking his "I could shoot somebody..." was a joke.

Plus, there are many other examples of "minor" scandals that have nevertheless brought down many in politics. The sad (and dangerous) part is that essentially everything on that list, or any other publicized scandals, is done by Tru*p and/or his administration* every effin' day.

Seriously, if you can't derail a presidential candidate with the pussy-grabbing, sexual assault ruling, fraud convictions, insults to war heros, etc., it's probably time to try another tactic.

As others have pointed out, facts have no partisan bias. Granted, the Rooseveilt era added tens of millions of jobs to the economy, but there is no way to spin the obvious trend and historical facts behind the story. But I a am totally not surprised that you adopt the Fox News interpretation of it. I knew that when I posted my comment. You people are so predictable.

Lindell’s governor ticket challenges now-certified GOP primary defeat

Now-certified election results in Minnesota’s Republican governor primary face a set of challenges from the ticket of Mike Lindell.

Lindell said Wednesday he would pay for a “hand recount and audit” of primary ballots and his running mate has filed a Minnesota Supreme Court petition alleging problems with voting and tabulation systems.

In a written statement announcing the recount bid, Lindell said “Even if this recount and audit does not overturn my election for governor of Minnesota, I believe this is the gateway to getting rid of these electronic voting machines.”

... Lindell said he wants a recount that includes designated observers and that reconciles vote totals with the number of voters who participated in the primary. Without many details, he suggested irregularities....

... Edwards said he plans to complete his term - but cites much prayer and reflection in making the difficult decision. This announcement comes after the United States House of Ethics Committee recommended a censure. following allegations of sexual misconduct with some of his staffers.

That recommendation stems from the committee concluding in a new report that there is substantial reason to believe he violated House rules .... creating a hostile workplace. The report alleges Edwards gave two female staffers a surplus of gifts– including jewelry totaling over $1,000, designer purses, guns, flowers, vacations and "one-on-one" dinners.

... Edwards won the May Primary for the Republican candidate for North Carolina District 11. With his withdrawal, the local Republican party will now choose a replacement candidate to run on the GOP ticket.

Yeah, the Holston plant is one of the few major employers in this area. It used to be operated by the Army but is now run by a private company with Army oversight. That same plant (with assistance from Eastman Chemical) invented the RDX explosive back during WWII. Rumor in these parts is that the mountains surrounding the plant are storage areas for massive amounts of explosives of different kinds. The place is likely a target. It's about ten miles from where I sit.

In Wisconsin, David Crowley defeats Francesca Hong in Democratic primary for governor

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley has won the Democratic nomination for governor of Wisconsin, according to a race call by the Associated Press. He narrowly defeated state Rep. Francesca Hong, a democratic socialist whose campaign had challenged the party establishment.
