Beware the September burrs when your dog goes off chasing a deer in the high grasses.

Worked on him for almost two hours to get them out and we are not done yet.

Try conditioner?

Thought about it but you'd have to rub it in which I thought would make it worse. Had to snip an awful amount of fur.

He's so beat I don't have the heart to do any more tonight.

If you uber-dilute it do you have to rub it in? Could you let it sit then brush it out?

I'll see tomorrow. His coat normally has a sheen, hopefully the natural oils will help. I've still got his chest, tummy and tail to do. Probably wind up cutting a lot of the tail tangles which is a bummer because it beautifully feathered.

The best way to get burrs out of a long-haired dog's coat is to lubricate the fur with coconut oil or a dog-safe detangler, split the hair into small sections, and gently comb them out using a metal slicker brush or wide-toothed comb.

Got a detangler with some coconut oil infused. Made a world of difference.
