2026 Elections

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

While the district is very right leaning I think Ager has a shot. He seems to be a reasonable candidate and I am not overly impressed with Balcom.

That is one of the worst political ads I've ever seen.

But I can't believe how many views some of her other ads have garnished.

Edit: There's something very fishy, almost a million views and not one comment?

Comments are not turned off.
Jennifer Balkcom for Congress
Videos

If you post that observation as a comment I'll bet it doesn't last long. Maybe all of the comments are negative and then censored.
:---P

The ads against Balkcom focus on her work for Duke and data centers and her ineffectiveness on Helene recovery.

It's a good year when Kansas is the state the GQP thinks it needs to focus resources on. Of course, this may not apply to Dementia Don's massive pot of collected bribes. We're still getting plenty of LYING negative ads against Cooper.

WITN Investigates: Fact checking attack ad that connects Roy Cooper to 22-year-old’s murder

Fact check: Is Roy Cooper responsible for the Charlotte stabbing death?

Republican lies about Roy Cooper hit an appalling new low | Opinion

Michael Whatley's lying to you.

Guys like Whatley aren't fit to serve the people.

GOP is resorting to dirty tricks to try to elect Michael Whatley

Tim Miller on the Whatley campaign lying about Roy Cooper: “You're really going to trick a father who lost their kid?…And to use them to try to help this chud, Michael Whatley, get elected to the Senate is about one of the most disgusting things you can do in a campaign.”
 Shame on Michael Whatley.

-0-? Campaign donors and donations may be concealed, but I THINK it's harder to hide ad buys and spending. Of course, the Senate Leadership Fund is not the only player here given Dozy Don's huge pot of bribes. There may be illegal collusion to continue the support for Whatley despite what the SLF does.

The price tag on the Ken Paxton rescue mission has Republicans panicking

Republicans know they have to spend big to save Ken Paxton. They're increasingly worried MAGA Inc. won't throw down in time.

In private conversations over recent weeks, senior Hill Republicans and GOP officials have nudged President Donald Trump's team to start spending more on the Texas Senate race before it's too late, according to three people with direct knowledge of those conversations, who were granted anonymity to discuss them.

Those fears escalated after audio leaked of Paxton privately trashing Trump's midterm convention, with some worrying it could impact whether MAGA Inc. continues spending after a current wave of GOP ad bookings run out Oct. 12.

... With national Democrats starting to finally spend for their Senate nominee, James Talarico, after months of holding off, and as polling of the race tightens, Republicans expect the cost of salvaging Paxton's campaign will only skyrocket. And, they've started to panic.

"It's a five-alarm fire, no doubt," one GOP senator said. "Can we put it out? I hope so."

"This is a slow-moving car crash that we're witnessing right now," a Republican strategist in the state said. "And there's a 75% chance that the ultimate result here will be catastrophic from a GOP Senate majority standpoint."
:violin:
... Even with a massive war chest, Texas is turning into a huge money sink for the GOP that senators worry could hurt them in other tight races as they work to defend deep-red states and try to flip blue seats in Michigan and New Hampshire.

Trump himself nodded to some of the concerns at a rally just across the Texas border in Oklahoma Thursday night, saying those voters aren't the ones he's concerned about.

"We're worried about Michigan. We're worried about Texas," he told the crowd. "We're worried about a few states."The president is scheduled to visit Texas again next week for a rally in San Antonio next Wednesday.
SLF poured another $60 million into Texas on Wednesday, bringing its total expenditure there to a record-breaking $131 million. With the MAGA Inc. money and additional GOP ad reservations, the race is already on track to top $200 million from outside Republican groups hoping to save Paxton. Paxton's own campaign recently announced a $20 million ad buy — one of the largest single media investments in a Texas Senate race.
:puke-left:
... But Republicans' money concerns have been complicated by Paxton himself. A growing number of GOP senators and top operatives have been stunned by what they described as unforced errors by the Texas Senate nominee. For example, he crossed one of the brightest red lines with Trump, telling a group of donors that "everybody's numbers dropped" after the president's GOP convention in Dallas last month, according to the audio leak reported by The New York Times.

"There seems to be very little strategy there," said another Republican senator, granted anonymity to candidly discuss the race. "Sometimes, I think [Paxton] wants to lose." ...

FNC figured out Trump had been using them to push his agenda at no charge. It was obvious to me. It was still stupid for Bartiromo to share the internal memo with the WH.

Yup. The anti-Cooper ads continue, but I don't know what the SLF had already purchased. Mail ballots have already been sent out and Early Voting begins on the 15th, so the effectiveness of ads diminishes through Election Day.

Just went on my county election site to get early voting dates. My old polling place is now replaced by John F. Kennedy Elementary School, which I don't know the location of but have the address. I do know where the early voting site is, though. While on there, I looked at the sample ballot. There are NO candidates other than Republicans listed for TN state representatives. And I figure to take my birth certificate with me just in case.

Damn, it just occurred to me that trump may slap his name on the John F. Kennedy Elementary School. I figure to vote early so there's no chance I will be exposed to such a thing were it to come to pass.
