Roosters can be genuinely aggressive, so the Kung-Fu remark is closer to reality than it sounds. I have not tested it myself, but birds defending a yard tend to commit fully. As for the Colonel Taylor line, that reference goes over my head—was it from a film or a local character? Either way, the image of a strutting rooster with a scheming look made me laugh. Fun threads like this are a good reminder to keep things light between the heavier reads.

We had a poster here who was a serious Charlton Heston fan, adopting a couple of handles based on his characters. Colonel Taylor was the protagonist in the original Planet of the Apes film series.
