Re: Just for Fun
An old farmer writes to his son in prison;
Dear son, this year i wont be able to plant potatoes because i can't dig the field by myself, i know if you were here, you would help me.
The son writes back; dad don't even think of digging the field because thats where i buried the money i stole.
The police read the letter and the next day the whole field was dug by police looking for the money but nothing was found.
The following day the son wrote again....
Now plant your potatoes dad.. Its the best i can do from here...

Re: Just for Fun
That doesn't have anything to do with grammar. It has to do with more search terms in the second example. If you type in "how can u" and "how can you" you get essentially the same results.Stinger wrote:

Re: Just for Fun
Maybe not grammar, but language usage. The correct way to ask the question would be either "how can one..." or "how can a person..." or as in the example, "how can an individual..." Asking "how can you..." whether spelled out or abbreviated, is colloquial unless the question really is asking how do YOU do it.
Actually, I thought the screen shots were a joke, but he search actually works as presented.

Re: Just for Fun
Exactly. What you want to know is "How can any individual ..." or "How can I ...," and when you use those search perimeters, you get higher quality search suggestions from when you use the less formal, less accurate "How can you."O Really wrote:Maybe not grammar, but language usage. I was sure results were "enhanced," but they were actually fairly representative.
