Dammit Boys! Eat Your Hearts Out!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

How about this: http://whatismyipaddress.com/
And how about this, o'great mouse detective:
Determining the physical location down to a city or ZIP code, however, is more difficult and less accurate because there is no official source for the information, users sometimes share IP addresses and Internet service providers often base IP addresses in a city where the company is basing operations.

Query: If I am using my computer in AZ at my son's house through his router, am I transmitting my IP or my son's?

Query: If I am using dial-up, does my IP address change from one location to another?

Every device connected to the public Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 127.0.0.1.

Since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers within region-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the region or country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. An IP address can sometimes be used to show the user's general location.
Well now we know at least one of the ways ohbutman is gaining access to information. What we don't know is what psycosis is driving him to be the great internet detective and attempt to find out who every person is and where they are.
You are one seriously dense individual. There was no detective work. You weren't singled out. All of our IPs were visible. The only reason it has been a topic of conversation is because you repeatedly posted under more than one name then repeatedly claimed you weren't because you were too stupid to realize we could see what you were doing. It wasn't like your one trick pony gun nut routine wasn't enough of a tip off that you were the sam person.

Yes once again, oops on your part. The fact that you are using Bell South made it easier to see exactly what city you were posting from because AT&T, like Charter, make it very easy to see that. Why do you keep making an ass of yourself over this? I simply asked you a question of why the ruse. If you don't want to answer then don't? Why continue to double down on your stupidity?

Vrede wrote:Thank you, Ombudsman. I get that much, but it doesn't really say that it's impossible for an IP address to appear to be in a different locale than the user, like Dryer Vent's or my hypothetical.
It's not impossible. It's quite easy. But what Leo, nor anyone else can do, is make it appear he is posting from a Bellsouth IP in Hendersonville while being in Arizona unless he is logging in remotely to his computer which he made clear he wasn't.

Likewise you are one serious dumbass to expect that a non-private computer might just have more than one user and then try to prove that an individual from a mulit-user computer is actually someone else. The true question remains why you feel such and insatiable need to try to prove such things. My guess is it just fits right in with your being in general an asshole

Your sons but it will be slightly different, usually by one number since you're on a different device.

It changes every time you dial in, although if you're in the same location it often cycles through several of the same ones.

Your constant insults don't make you look less pathetic. If you're going to log in under one name and lambast others for insults, then log in under another and insult people, we're going to call you on it. Sorry you didn't get away with it, but I'm sure you'll live through the humiliation.

Poor deluded idiot. I've never logged in under another name I made a couple of posts as a guest before registering but never had another name. You keep patting yourself on the back imagining that you have somehow humiliated me. The only humiliation here is your own by continuing to double down on your dumbass fantasies and incorrect assumptions. The laughter you are hearing is people laughing at you...not with you

No, I haven't, but if a person had a dial-up account, that would probably explain any discrepancy in real vs. apparent location. As I recall, back when I had BellSouth DSL they also gave me a dial-up number to access when I wasn't on my own line. I don't remember if it was an 800 number or some Florida local exchange.

I once had a dialup connection, but now get the signal fed directly into my brain.

I'm surprised you even have Internet up on Hualapai Mountain. I've been to the top. Cables run up that far?

I don't live on the mountain; I live not far off Hualapai Mtn. Rd. going to the mountains. There's more than one; Hualapai Mountains.
We do, however have some hellacious extension cords. (I believe they're called "drop cords" in NC.)

I got this photo off Wikipedia's website. It the most common postcard found in the area stores. Click on the + to enlarge.
