I've been away.. perhaps this has been addressed but.. the word militia as in "A well regulated militia," implies training.. Militias in Colonial America were indeed trained so it certainly isn't a stretch to require training today. ..
Seems the "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." crowd always leaves out the "A well regulated militia," clause..
Chicago has the strictest restrictions in the country yet it also has one of the highest gun crime rates. Even in the "bad neighborhoods", as O really claimed, should not guns be less invloved due to all these restrictions? California, again some of the strictest laws. Yesterdays events happened in...you guessed it....California. It is beyond time to apply common sense and realize that a loaded gun will do nothing...absolutley nothing...until picked up by a person. If that person has evil intentions in their heart then the gun becomes a tool of that person's evil. Likewise, the same loaded gun, picked up a person with no malice, will do no harm if it is properly treated. Either way the gun is nothing more than a piece of machined metal that requires a person to use it. Why not foucs on the person, not the chunk of metal.

Ummm, what part of "universal background checks, mandatory training, etc." is focused on the chunk of metal rather than the person? Been huffing too much gun oil or are you just incapable of being honest?
As predicted, you ran away from giving us the proof you claimed to have that things we've never tried don't work. Chicago means little when Indiana is just a short hop away. Pitiful.
Your insults grow tiresome. If you want to debate please do so as an adult without the BS. I realize there are some here that are totally incapable but I had hope for you, However, it is waning.
As I've already said and given examples of your background checks and training prevent nothing. All they accomplish is making it more difficult for a law abiding person to purchase a gun. You even proved it in your last statement! We must get more serious about punishing the people that are violating current law and applying current law better, not passing more ineffective laws that will have no impact on the problem.
Roland Deschain wrote:...As I've already said and given examples of your background checks and training prevent nothing.
Yes, you have a goofy habit of repeating the same fallacies over and over as if that constitutes the proof that you always claim to have while running away from challenges to provide it.

What are you worried about, skeletons in your closet that you've hidden so far?
You even proved it in your last statement!
You fail logic and comprehension, again. My last statement points out the fallacy in citing Chicago when gunhugger Disneyland is just a few miles away. Rather, if you get someone literate to explain it to you, you'll see that there will always be failures without strong and consistent national law incorporating new strategies.
"proved" always turns out to be just your confusion.
We must get more serious about punishing the people that are violating current law and applying current law better,
Translation: Doing the same exact thing with just more cops and more prisons will magically work this time.
not passing more ineffective laws that will have no impact on the problem.
Ah, you have a crystal ball that denies the realities of states like NY and every other developed, non-war zone nation. Cool.

As usual when he flubs, Roland Deschain diverts and runs away. Sad.
An entire post that offers nothing of substance to the discussion. Rather just an opportunity to insult in a line by line format. No wonder this forum seems to be a rather small club of the same folks. So far I have only found one person capable of rational discussion here and that is O really.

LOL - It just keeps getting better. I haven't seen this much projection since Partisan62's breakdown.
O Really wrote:But if illegal possession got upgraded from a class 2 misdemeanor to a felony, and committing a crime with a gun added another 5 or 10 years to whatever sentence you might have otherwise received, it would probably make a difference.
Now you are starting to make sense!!!!
Why are you such a cheerleader for punishment after the fact when universal background checks will deter many felons and loons before the fact? I'll bet you run around closing barn doors long after the livestock is gone. By your "reasoning" we should do away with driver training and testing in lieu of just hammering the ones that wreck.
Because it has already been proven that background checks and restrictions do not work. All they do is place additional restrictions on legal buyers who have no criminal records or intent and as long as the criminals skate on light punishments there is no deterrent against continuing.
So in light of the fact that another mass shooting was caused yesterday by a person known to have diagnosed mental health issues, who easily obtained guns, what is your solution?
Bump. Roland, you going to respond to this or just resort to more of your trolling?
Oh I'm sorry ohbutboy....were you speaking? Apparently your question got buried under a bunch of your usual useless bovine excrement, and yet you acuse me of trolling. You would almost be funny if you were not so pathetic.
So, he was "known to have diagnosed mental issues" was he? First coming from you we need a source to back that up. Second, if he actually was diagnosed then where did he get the guns, and if he got them from a dealer then that is just more proof of the existing laws which prohibit gun sales to people with mental health problems. Anymore questions?
Just as I expected. More insults. More trolling. No ability to respond intelligently. Thanks for playing Sport. We have some nice parting gifts for you.
Although Mad Roland is too dense to realize it, he just demonstrated the problem. Guns are far too easy to get under the current system. All this NRA talk about limiting guns so that the mentally ill can't get them is useless when guns are easily available through countless other means other than licensed dealers. Roland of course can offer no solution because the NRA hasn't given him the proper talking points.
Poor deluded fool.....could not even answer one simple question which is key to his argument. Where did the shooter get the guns? In addition I can't help but notice that ohbutboy did not provide a source to the "known diagnosed mental issues". However I digress, and will offer up the solution that butboy seems to think I do not have. Of course one needs to know where the guns were bought but let's just say they were bought from a dealer, who performed a NICS background check and the purchase was approved. If this person was actually diagnosed with mental health issues why was he not flagged. Could it be years of the mental health community stonewalling and refusing to offer NICS access to mental health records so that these gun purchase could be denied. Nah, that could never be it....somehow it has to be the gun and gun law at fault. Solution....force the mental health community to allow NICS access to records.
Roland Deschain wrote:Poor deluded fool...... ohbutboy did not ..butboy
Classic Mad Roland. Nothing of substance. So brilliant he doesn't even know there are countless sources reporting the shooter's mental health history.
Only thing we've learned is that Roland is obsessed with butts and boys.
Question answered, argument shot, ohbutboy back to insults.....typical. No wonder this place has an active member count of three....ranks right up there with most their mental capacities.

Shades of Butt Ugly.
Just another forum asshole with nothing to add to conversations other than childish bullshit hoping to garner a response. Finding that theme to be popular here...all mouth and no brains. No wonder this place is a laughing stock.

It is when you're here. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit, so don't blame others when your lame, hypocritical, stupid posts leads to childish bullshit in response.
It's much better than your posts deserve.
By the way, ... pointing out that you claim victory without engaging the enemy is a legitimate point.

So far I have only found one person here capable of debate on an adult level and that is O really, with whom I have engaged plenty. The rest of you fools act like an elementary school playground insult contest. Don't hate just cause you are being out played at your own pitiful game.

And Vrede asked you a question you didn't want to answer, so you claimed victory and ran away. Best you could do, I guess. The rest of you fools act like an elementary school playground insult contest. At least I haven't called anyone "belly crawling scum worms" you hypocritical asshole. Don't hate just cause you are being out played at your own pitiful game. You're spot on there. I am being out-stupided . . . by you.
Ooooh....bold and red and in two threads to boot. Must've struck a nerve.
By the way, I answered vrede's question. However, vrede seems to have some idea that if he disagrees with, or does no like the answer it was never given and continues to beat a dead horse. It's no wonder this is a dying forum, it's nothing more than a circle jerk for you three dumbfucks.
