Just for Fun

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Today I learned:
Back in 1994, Patti Davis, the daughter of former President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan, discarded the Reagan name and posed for the July 1994 issue of Playboy magazine using her mother’s maiden name instead.

Dedicated to O Really...... :lol:

On their way to get married, a young Catholic couple was involved in a fatal car accident. The couple found themselves sitting outside
the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process them into Heaven. While waiting they began to wonder; Could they possibly get married in Heaven?

When St. Peter arrived they asked him if they could get married in Heaven. St. Peter said, "I don't know.
This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out"..... and he left.

The couple sat and waited for an answer......for 3 months. While they waited, they discussed the pros and cons.
If they were allowed to get married in Heaven, should they get married, what about the "eternal" aspect of it all? What if it doesn't work?
Are we stuck in Heaven together forever?

Another month passed. St. Peter finally returned, looking somewhat bedraggled. "Yes," he informed the couple, "You can get married in Heaven."

"Great!" said the couple. "But we were just wondering; what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?"

St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slammed his clipboard on the ground.

"What's wrong?" asked the frightened couple.

"OH, COME ON!!!" St. Peter shouted. "It took me 3 months to find a priest up here! Do you have ANY idea how long it'll take to find a lawyer?"

Nor do the Muslims really know anything about average Americans. They believe the only good non-Muslim is a dead non-Muslim.

“Whoever seeks other than Islam as his religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he will be with the losers” “Slay the idolators [non-Muslims] wherever ye find them, and take them captive, and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the last Day…. Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah!" (Sura 9:5,29,41).

Oh, and BTW, atheists are given the privilege of moving to the front of the line.....

There are plenty of similiarities between Muslims and Christians. They worship the same god and therefore have similar feelings about those who don't.
If anyone secretly entices you—even if it is your brother, your father’s son or your mother’s son, or your own son or daughter, or the wife you embrace, or your most intimate friend—saying, “Let us go worship other gods,” whom neither you nor your ancestors have known, any of the gods of the peoples that are around you, whether near you or far away from you, from one end of the earth to the other, you must not yield to or heed any such persons. Show them no pity or compassion and do not shield them. But you shall surely kill them; your own hand shall be first against them to execute them, and afterwards the hand of all the people. Stone them to death for trying to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

In it's fullness and not watered down:

Deuteronomy 13:6-10 (KJV)

6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul,
entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth
even unto the other end of the earth;

8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God,
which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

What's your point? This was written under Mosiac Law due to diobedienc; long before the Grace of God absolved us from thes harsh rectrictions.
Christians do not abide by this today..... My example above is still a strong point in Islam.

I'm not getting into this any further. You are intelligent enough to know and understand the differences in OT Law and NT Grace.

LOL - What's my point? That all you religious nuts have a way of justifying the shitty things your religious texts tell you. Criticizing Muslims for what's in the Koran while excusing basically the same thing in the Bible is the epitome of hypocrisy.

Mosaic Law, what a hoot.

So we can drop the first part of the Judeo-Christian thing? That's good to know.
Most religions think they have the exclusive truth and that all other religions are
missing out to some degree. I doubt the great majority of Muslims believe that
non-Muslims should be killed. You have to remember that just because it's in a
holy book doesn't mean that it will be followed by members of that religion. That
applies to all religions and followers.

Here's one of mine. Favorite Garbage-Mouthed Song
The reason I don't debate religion.
I've never gotten into a discussion that didn't turn into a hate-filled, trash-mouth reply from you God-haters and atheists.
You and the Homerfobe must be one and the same; your style is identical. And it's not only "religious nuts" that criticize Islam.
Mosiac Law....look it up. hoot hoot.

But you aren't certain, are you? If I were you or Ombudsman, I wouldn't travel to a Muslim country and vocally announce my atheism, just as I wouldn't
loudly proclaim I was a Christian unless I was there in an official capacity as a Christian. We could come home holding our heads in our arms.

I've been in Indonesia and India, the countries with the 2 largest Muslim populations on the planet, as well as Malaysia and Singapore - no problems at all.
That was well before the rise of Osama bin Laden/Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and their hate campaign towards the U.S. and who they consider to be
"kafir" or "detested by God". This included non-Sunni's, atheists, Christians, homosexuals, and any other non-Muslims.

So it's okay for you to denigrate Muslims based on a line from the Koran but when I point out your Bible says the same thing essentially I'm hate filled. Next time stick to your principles and don't discuss religion in the first place, especially if you don't want the counterpoint.

You've "denigerated" religion in many of your other posts. Why do you bother to defend the Muslim religion when you don't believe in God to begin with?

The only differences is in the name God, who you don't believe in, is called. You take your opinions of the Bible from the writings of old Jewish Law;
my opinions come from modern day news articles wherein many quotes from Muslims and their practices were taken.
Modern-day Christians don't behead non-believers; Muslims do.

My principles are firmly in place, thank you.
