So - Asheville kid gets caught with a motor scooter that was on the stolen list. There had to be some conversation of some sort, didn't there? Some response by the kid, even "I didn't steal no bike - my uncle bought it." Or something. But the kid gets arrested, booked, foul publicity, trouble in school, and it turns out he really didn't steal it, and had no way of knowing it was ever stolen.
The kid's story is way more verifiable than Zimmerman's, and the crime, if there was a crime, is much less serious, yet the kid gets arrested and Zimmerman initially was let go pending an investigation.
Does anyone really believe a white kid in the same circumstance would have been arrested? Would there have been any less law enforcement to have confiscated the "stolen" bike, taken the kid's ID and looked into his story?
