Hubcap Retreival Tactics
I lost my hubcap last week. I'm about 90% sure It's on I-85 in the northbound lane in the passing lane shoulder between Exit 54 and the North American Rescue Building. I see it everyday commuting home from work. Is there any hope of ever retrieving my beloved hubcap? Or is it lost forever to the sands of time? What other priceless treasures have been laid to rest on the interstate passing lane over the years?

I've seen a couple of different design on highway 25 and also I 26 east. Maybe if you get someone to ride shotgun and is handy with a rope and hook type of arrangement, you may be able to snag it on your way by. Of course, you may have to make one of those last minute swerving type erratic movements to get a good angle on it, so keep an eye on your rear mirror and don't focus on the wrangler. You're welcome.

Truth is, I haven't had a vehicle in decades that actually had hubcaps. Didn't know they still made them. Do you drive some exotic antique that it would cost hundreds just to replace it? Or did you have original JCWhitney moon covers from 1962? Spinners - antique or contemporary? Tell us - what makes the hubcap "beloved"?

Re: Hubcap Retreival Tactics
Probably the most beloved aspect of the hubcap is its ability to be discarded in favor of a more pleasing / stylish design at some point in the future. Also, some of the more vintage designs have the ability to conceal things other than the lug nuts on the wheel.O Really wrote:Truth is, I haven't had a vehicle in decades that actually had hubcaps. Re: Hubcap Retreival Tactics
The only thing that makes it beloved to me is me not wanting to shell out money for a new one. After losing another one (and subsequently retrieving it) I just ended up taking all them bitches off and now I'm driving naked and just free-wheeling it.O Really wrote:Tell us - what makes the hubcap "beloved"?

Wouldn't looking at someone and suggesting they look like a homophobe be the same as looking at someone and suggesting that's what a queer looks like?bannination wrote:That you? Kinda looks like a homerphobe.
Does your gaydar work as well as your personal anti-homophobia?

I think you just defamed an innocent person. I suspect Homefobe's signature is just something he googled and for whatever reason, thinks it's clever.bannination wrote:homerfobe wrote:Hubcap Retreival Tactics.

Probably, but the file was in such a weird spot to find on the server. Makes you wonder.

Well that guy is based in Indiana. If homer is posting from an Indiana IP it would be a convincing coincidence, but I'm betting he's not.

That's scary! I would hate anyone thinking I was Homerfobe!Vrede wrote:"Oddly, homerfobe and Mr.B have shared an IP address at some point, but there's no way I think they are the same poster."

I recently changed from DSL to AT&T UVerse. Now, whenever I log into Yahoo! homepage, the weather report on the right side of the page is displayed for Greenville, SC; other times for Arden, sometimes for Asheville. Whenever I use Yahoo! search, the search page will display whatever I'm searching for "near Greenville" or Arden, Asheville, etc. I did notice that my new wireless router had the MAC address and my IP address on the pre-printed FCC Approval label that was adhered to the side of the router. I've not thought anything about it until now.
Here's a goody....sometimes I send email through my Bing/MSN account. If I use a hotmail.com email address, I'm in Spartanburg. If I use Outlook Express email address, I'm in Greenville. When I log into the MSN homepage, I'm in Asheville 28804 (north Asheville/Weaverville). Google says I'm in Arden all the way around. I kinda like it that way!

By using the same wireless router. You guys must be roommates. (It's pretty obvious homerfobe is someone else's sock puppet. No one is that single minded.)Mr.B wrote:That's scary! Nah...I kinda like it that way!Vrede wrote:"If not on the Yahoo! homepage in your settings you can ID your default location and that should stop happening.
Otherwise, you're at the mercy of the local routing of the moment."

Why do you have it in for me? Since I logged in this forum, you've been nothing but a snide-ass in your replies.
Unless you are a long-time BRN/BRD member using a new moniker, the older members that know me and my quirkiness surely wouldn't think I was
Homerfobe due to the same/similar IP address. Knowing that this forum's admins can see my IP address, wouldn't it be rather foolish and/or asinine for me
to post under two screen names thinking I was outwitting y'all by posting with two separate completely opposite personalities?
I may be crazy, but I ain't stupid.
