Mr.B's sole IP shows Greenville, SC but he ain't there. Meanwhile, homerfobe has posted from literally scores of IPs. Now, I'm not "tech savvy" enough to know how this happens but it doesn't take an Einstein to know for an undeniable fact that they aren't the same poster. Reading style, politics, vernacular, interests, attitude, intelligence, religious perspective, etc., it would be far more likely for me and Ombudsman to be the same poster.

They're equally grumpy. But you're the one who said they posted from the same IP, not me. Sounds like you don't actually know what you're talking about but what else is new?

From her follow up posts it sounds like she thinks this is an IP address "dhcp.arden.nc.charter.com". When she claims you and homerfobe are posting from the same one, she probably just means you've posted from the same carrier.

Mr.B objected to vulgarity, something he's done for years, and JTA apologized. And, ironically, his "incredibly rude" was to compare JTA to homerfobe while your claim is that Mr.B and homerfobe are one in the same or roommates.

Once again, you said they were posting from the same IP. You don't seem to understand the implication of that. What else is new? (Do you have my posts on an RSS feed? Or do you never do anything else?)

Damn son, you're thick. Vrede is trying to cover her ass after once again abusing her moderator privileges and saying that you and homerfobe use the same IP address, which means you're either the same person or posting from the same location, like roommates. Being that you're both grumpy and self-righteous, it's not a far stretch to think you're the same person, but the fact is Vrede is the one who outed you then tried to play coy about it.

I'm not trying to "fool" anyone, in fact, if Mr. B. is Homerphobe, then he is fooling me.

All three of us, Homerphobe, Mr. B., and I use the same ISP. It's possible we were assigned the same address at different times. It's also possible Homerphobe is Mr. B. It's possible one of them is stealing the other's wifi.

It's not a slam dunk case, and at any rate, I don't care if Mr. B. is homerphobe.

A more likely case to me is that "Guest" and "Homerphobe" are the same person. They've shared IP's before as well. Still, there's no way to prove it unless they use the same IP at the same time, and even then it's shaky depending on how tech savvy they are, proxy, is the connection coming from a caching server, etc.

My money is on some quirk in the AT&T system, though I don't know how exactly it would happen. Ombudsman believes the system is perfect, so he ignores what his own senses are telling him about the vast differences between Mr.B and homerfobe.

It's not really a quirk per say, just the natural way the system works. You're basically assigned a random IP address (but within a certain range) every time you connect to your ISP, your ISP may even force an IP change while you are still connected. It's a cost saving measure. You can pay extra for a public facing non-changing IP address called a static IP.

Precisely. The chances of two people out of the 15 or so who post here ever having the same IP address is astronomical especially since most people use static IP addresses that rarely change. I don't think there's a single person who actually believes you've been observing and taking note of homer's and B's dynamic ip addresses to the point of being able to note that out of several they've supposedly used, you caught them using the same one at two different points in time. What is believable is that you screwed up again and made a dumb ass comment about MrB's IP address being the same as Homer's, which was revealed when I pointed out they must be roommates to be using the same IP. (Which I don't actually believe...it was just a way pointing out what you were really implying about MrB.) If they actually had the same address, it would be far more likely they were the same person not that they were roommates, but since you said you didn't believe they were the same person, the only other logical inference is that they must be posting from the same location, or that you were lying to begin with about their IP's.

Given your history, my real suspicion was that you were once again abusing your moderator privileges (in violation of the forum rules) and making a completely false statement. That is without a doubt the most likely scenario. But because you're still crying about my comment about people who aren't tech savvy, you're now too embarrassed to own it. You know if you'd just slip on your big girl panties and act like a responsible moderator, you'd avoid a lot of conflicts and probably have a lot more activity on this board.
