Wingnutties out of control!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

EXCLUSIVE: Explosive new book sets out case for impeaching Barack Obama . . . .

"Explosive" has come to enjoy new meanings., especially when used by wingnuts. Apparently it can now mean to look out for some unusually silly and unsupportable bullshit, bundled up in a tinfoil wrapper.

It's just the latest such collection of wingnuttery by Aaron Klein of WorldNetDaily, AKA WingNutDaily.

For those not familiar with the notoriously awful Daily Mail, its credibility falls somewhere between WorldNetDaily and Fox News.

The very one. There seems to be no conspiracy horse sufficiently dead so as to discourage rabid, wild-eyed wingnuts from flailing away at it like so many lunatics.

 I was going to quote a couple but there are just too many to decide. Though Maine is one of 2 states I've never been to, my impression is that Mainers are a decent and sensible people that won't put up with this BS by reelecting LePage in 2014.
You've never been to Maine? Seriously? Man, there's lots of states I'd give up going to so as not to miss out on Maine. But yeah, I'd bet they'll toss the idiot out.

Wanna strap a canoe on the roof rack and do a road trip?
Ummm, that would be quite a road trip. Culturally, Maine and NC aren't that far apart - geographically, it's a long way. But I'd seriously recommend flying into Portland ("Paht-lun"), renting a Jeep and driving up US1 and side roads up the coast to Arcadia. It looks just like the postcards. You can go by the original Bean store for gear - it's not as much fun as it used to be when it was the only actual Bean store, and it's totally tourist infested, but still...
You can rent a canoe most anywhere, including at the Old Town factory. I don't do well in canoes - I'm a kayaker myself. Canoes tend to run aground and hit rocks when I'm in them. Stop off at Boothbay Harbor, for fried clams, lobstah rolls and lobstah. Go up Cadillac Mountain (hike or drive) for either a sunrise or sunset. Take bug spray - mosquitos are the size of lobstahs.

Unless you've got a lot of time - at least a couple of weeks, you can't really do coastal Maine and the North Woods on the same trip. But do the coastal first. Northern/inland Maine isn't that much different from places around here - except for the moose and the loons (the birds, not the Republicans). But if you're on a time budget, you could head directly from Bar Harbor over to Bangor and take the I-95 up to Millinocket and then over to Baxter for a trip up Katahdin. The part on the Appalachian Trail is tough, particularly for anyone not used to hiking, but it doable and well worth the effort.

BTW, what's the other state you haven't been to?

I'd love to see Maine again. Haven't been since '76, when I was in Sub School in Groton, CT. Used to drive up weekends when we could. Curious but likeable people, for the most part.

I probably couldn't name 35 countries, although I have been to 17 - 18 counting the Conch Republic, and have missed only 8 states. Enjoyed some more than others, but everywhere has some good. You suppose the average right-wing nut is well traveled? And if so, how could they stay a right-wing nut?

At least one former poster here would go by the Compact theory of the USA being a federation of independent states working together through a compact. That is, at least until the War of Northern Aggression made them all provinces.

Thus he could count each state visited as a country visited. He could be very well-travelled indeed without leaving the southern US.

I think that encountering a bunch of heavily armed rednecks with beer cans and no shirts going down the hill toward SC from Hendersonville would be much less than a compact; especially if I were wearing my white suit.

And next up in the "holding up the stereotype" category, State Senator Vicki Marble (Colorado)...

my nut job brother in law sent my email address to Townhall. I had heard of them, as faux news quotes them and used their nuts as experts on all sorts of issues, but didn't realize the full degree of crazy until I bagan reading their bullshit and lies (no fucking wonder the cons are so fucking stupid).

Here is a good one -

Dear Reader,

The America you know and love could look completely different in a matter of weeks.

Under a plan circulating the D.C. corridor right now, up to 16 states are at risk to be terminated due to epic fiscal mismanagement.

These states would simply be wiped from existence and merged into their neighbors.

We’ve even seen the redrawn map of the U.S. and it’s nothing less than terrifying.

California may be forced to become a part of Mexico without any state strong enough to absorb it!

Last week Treasury Secretary Jack Lew even took the time to urge congressional leaders to take action before events unfold that could lead to this national tragedy.

But it may already be too late.

To see the redrawn map of the U.S. and learn if your state is targeted for potential termination, it’s essential that you watch this short video we’ve produced.

It could be the slight head start that saves your entire future.

There was a time when I thought there was some shit just too fuggin idiotic to be believed by more than a handful of seriously damaged individuals. I an older and wiser, now, and realize bthat there is nothing too fuggin idiotic to be believed by teabagger fucktards. Are you sure this isn't a clever link to The Onion?

Steve King (R-Iowa) is an excellent example of the title of this thread.

It's nice to know that not all the idiots in Congress are from NC.

I saw a news clip today on yahoo news (thankfully without audio) of Ted Cruz standing at a podium and speaking, but just behind him on his right was our very own Mark Meadows, smiling like someone who'd just had a couple bottles of wine and a Quaalude. It cracked me up.

Yeah, but there was another wingnut on Ted's left. Don't even know who it was; I was too focused on Meadows. At first I wasn't sure it was him....that lobotomy like visage is hard to mistake. It was him.
