USC is overrated!!
Florida is handing their asses to them. Spurrier looks like he's about to have a stroke.

You cannot carry a football like a loaf of bread. Do so and anyone will beat you.
Florida might be the best in the nation. I have not seen Alabama but they must be impressive.

You cannot turn the ball over that many times in the SEC and win. USC is good, especially on defense, but back to the Capital One bowl.

Oh, you're talking about that "USC" I was about to point out Southern Cal is pasting Colorado pretty well at the half, so what's your problem. Opps.

Yeah, that...and they sometimes call themselves "Carolina" too. As if. Nothing against the school, they just need to come up with their own nicknames instead of being wannabes of someone else. Having said that, I can't think of any other school who calls themselves "cocks" either, so I guess they get credit for originality.Vrede wrote:Only South Carolinians say "USC". I've seen ESPN call them SCAR.Vrede wrote:Only South Carolinians say "USC". The rest of the country knows who the real USC is and just say "SC" for the former #9 team that got trounced 44-11.

Well, if Lattimore had been healthy and the turnover fest hadn't happened, it would have been a much closer game. And that's from a longtime Gator who sold souvenirs at the stadium back when Spurrier was quarterback.Vrede wrote:Only South Carolinians say "USC". You're probably going to win with the 21. But the Noles are about to score again it looks like, which would make it 10. I've got mixed feelings, being an alumni of the U law, but really really enjoying seeing FSU through the years, particularly with Osceola and Renegade, the absolute best college mascot ever-rr! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A27RnudrsZ0Vrede wrote:Tied up now. And was behind UNC by over a hundred. Unless you count the time before they were the "University of South Carolina." It's a fine school, the medical school is top tier in the nation. No slamming here. But Southern Cal, fair or not, is more famous, and UNC was the first and original "Carolina."Tertius wrote:USC beat the University of Southern California by 79 years.

Hopefully you won't get a "random" test tomorrow. Florida played (and thumped) South Carolina. Miami is playing (and losing to) Florida State. But if you bet on Miami +21, it's less safe than it was. The Noles just went up by 20 with 2:45 to go.Vrede wrote:Oops, I got my Gators and Seminoles confused.Sorry, Stinger, I know it's heresy.
I bet on FL, against FSU. 11 minutes is a long time to score 12 points, I'm not counting my winnings yet.

BTW, if anyone cares about the religious aspects of football, the Catholics overcame the Mormons today, 17-14. Whether is an omen or not, we'll see.

I forgot that I'd confuse all the idiots here calling South Carolina USC. This is a regional forum, correct?

In football, 10 or 11 (one vacated) national titles for USC, 0 for SCar, 25 conference championships for USC, 1 for SCar.
USC vs. USC? U Simply Can't find a football rivalry … so far
SoCal is for hating, SCar for pitying.

I agree that SC is overrated, and not just in football. Perhaps the one shining department in the entire university is International Business in the Darla Moore School of Business. It has been ranked #1 in the nation for 14 years.

They can be. But "provincial" also has other connotations.gongoozler wrote:One is a synonym of the other. Look it up.O Really wrote:Regional, maybe, but not provincial.gongoozler wrote:... This is a regional forum, correct?
