The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Such as Black Sabbath?
Mr. B,

I didn't know you were a fan of metal music. When are we going to go to a metal concert together?

Music?? You call that screaming, guttural noise music? No fan of something I can't even comprehend the meaning of.

A lot of metal has clean vocals. It's not all guttural. Ronnie James DIO! Not gonna lie though, I do like a lot of black/death metal. I can see why most people don't like it though.

What are you unable to comprehend? I'm your man Mr. B, here to answer any of your metal related questions. Ask away!

Edit: I forgot to add

Jex Thoth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMg2SDmAmIM

Female fronted metal band with clean vocals. Clean female vocalists with crushing guitars are simply fantastic. If I were gay they would most certainly turn me straight.

More female vocals: Jucifer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExLKJU0_bqQ

I'm with you on (most) rap. And also metal if it's the newer stuff. I also absolutely hate country. And most everything played on 93.3 the planet (worst "rock" station I've ever listened to). What kind of music do you listen to? I'm always on the lookout for new music.

Let's start with the vocals...or lack of. All I can make out is screams and loud musical twangs. Therefore, I have no metal-related questions.
I don't care one bit for today's "Country" music; the long, drawn-out whines, repetitive words and so on.
Give me the old 60's & 70's Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Ricky Van Shelton, Willie Nelson etc., etc., etc.

Related to the question posed on another thread, why do beliefs alleged to be religious get special treatment when those beliefs translate into actions that would otherwise be unacceptable? Why is Phil Duck entitled to a pass for his bigotry because it's supposedly based on his religious beliefs, and supposedly would be fair game for criticism if he had just made it up? Suppose I say my religion requires that I decapitate the infidels. Will Sarah and company come to my defense because it's a "religious" belief? Homey don't think so.

These people just don't pay attention, do they? Reminds me of back when the airlines first started getting sued for sex discrimination by the "stewardesses." The first one took the issue to trial and had their asses handed to them soundly, with big money damages awarded. Appealed and lost. It would seem if you were running another airline at that time, you would have looked at that case and the decision and results and said, "opps, times are changing - I better change my policies." But nooooooo! The next airline stepped up, took basically the same issue to trial, got their asses handed to them, and lost on appeal. I think every one of the major airlines at the time took their own turn in the barrel and lost. As will Oklahoma, unless they either avoid religious symbols on public property or let everyone in.

I'll wait til the statue is up and photoshop myself onto it's lap. No point in going to Oklahoma City unless you get sent there when you die, as did the 'Sonics.

Perhaps they've never accomplishing anything ugly themselves... but ugliness needs supporters.. It never hurts to keep a bright light on either of them..

After reading the story, read the comments and take notice of the thumbs down. The hate and deviations in this world is unbelievable.

Depends on how you define "worship".
