There is a theistic Satanism, but generally, they just use the symbolism commonly associated with the character Satan, such as explained by the Church of Satan, here... http://www.churchofsatan.com/

He's going to say it doesn't matter. Anybody who doesn't believe his way in his particular deity and behave in the manner he believes qualifies you for "real" is going straight to Hell, handbasket or elevator. Well, he may not actually be willing to admit that, but I'm guessing that's what he thinks.

Looking forward to B's definition of a "true" Satanist. Bet he ends up sounding a lot like a "true" Christian.

up to do the same to be on equal ground; and that the ACLU would mandate they do so. Got it now? Do I have to explain everything to you? :-0?>
Ya think it'll be a "cold day in (way down yonder)" before that'll ever happen?

That might be what you thought you were saying but it still comes off as some bizarrely twisted reasoning.. truthfully I've tried to unravel some of your other comments that were even more convoluted..Mr.B wrote:The story was about 'religious' people who gave large tips to help out others....hence my snide remark about SatanistsCrock Hunter wrote: "Sooo.. "Worse" in what way? Let's say they're just worse off than those who do believe in a "supernatural deity".Vrede wrote: "Which of us are worse to you, Mr.B, the ones that worship the "wrong" supernatural deity or the ones that don't believe in supernatural deities?"
Inasmuch as I'm a Believer in the Gospel, I believe, and am "willing to admit" what the Bible says about those who are blasphemers,O Really wrote: "He's going to say it doesn't matter. and those who put other gods before the Creator....plain and simple as that.
How they get to Hell is not my concern; I'm not the One issuing the boarding passes; my concern is that they are going.

[/quote]Vrede wrote: Okay then, atheists are worse than Satan worshipers. Why?
A person who believes in Satan must, by definition, also believe in God since Satan is defined as the antithesis of God. The all-evil opposite of the all-good. The ruler of Hell, the opposite of Heaven.
So they're more like a black sheep denomination of the Christian faith than something unique. Atheists, on the other hand denounce the entire concept of a god-person.

Re: The Religion Thread
Why does Satan get a bad rep? He's just doing what he was designed to do, that is, trick as many people as possible in to being burned for eternity.
God doesn't hate him, he was made for that one purpose. <shrug>
I'm so curious about Mr. B's answer to Vrede's question.

Re: The Religion Thread
The Bible makes a pretty good case for the worship of Satan.
In the beginning he shows up as a talking snake and tells Eve that if she eats the forbidden fruit, she won't die but that her eyes will be opened to knowing right from wrong. God had told them otherwise, that they would die, the same day they ate the fruit. She eats it, and guess what, they don't die and their eyes are opened to the knowledge of good and evil. Why wouldn't God want them to know that anyway? And if they didn't know, then how could they know is wrong to disobey God in the first place.
Then Satan teases God thereby tricking God into destroying Job. God, being unable to control his desire to prove himself, takes everything from Job. Not Satan.
Other reasons to worship Satan instead of God.
Satan doesn't kill anyone. God kills massive amounts of people, over and over again.
God created Hell, not Satan.
God sent his only son to die a gruesome death just to prove he's God.
Satan on the other hand promised Jesus all the kingdoms of the earth.
Seems like the Bible is just one big test to see if decent people can figure out that Satan is really the more worthy entity.

I recommend the Rolling Stones song "Sympathy for the Devil." It articulates the concept nicely. Opps; this was meant to reply to ombudsman's post. We'll wait.

Pastor tries atheism, loses jobs, gains $19,000
Guy gets fired by Christians and helped by atheists. MrB, what you're experiencing now is cognitive dissonance.

I always laugh when these goobers try to sneak religion into the
government. Then they wind up getting their ass bit by Satanists.
Sweet.

Re: The Religion Thread
"I watched with glee as your kings and queens fought for ten decades for the gods they made." - M. Jagger This seems to infer that Satan was observing events on the same or even higher level than God was. It's just hard to say for sure.

What's he talking about in this line:
"And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reach Bombay"
?
