The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Interesting that you are a fan of King James, whichever number of the one you're following....I have nothing "going for me" as I do not, nor have ever worshipped King James, regardless which number he was.... I,II, III, whatever. I found this, maybe it'll soothe your shattered nerves.....

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.

You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good.

So love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't.

Life is too short to be anything but happy.

Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.

The interesting thing is I could care less if King James was gay or not. If he was gay, it makes perfect sense to me, Jesus always hung around the worst of society, (you know, the people you would say are going to hell) whores, etc. It would make sense to use a gay man to help spread his message.

Be sure you're playing for the right team Mr. B.

I guess being a homophobe blinds you to certain paths of thinking.

(P.S., I do not believe gays and whores are the worst of society, that's just the Christian view.)

That's an odd thing for a perpetual grump to post.

I thought it was weird that he thinks my nerves are shattered. He must think I'm emotionally involved in the issue like he is, but for me, it's just history. Gay, not gay, I don't care. Obviously he does. :D

You must have a passion for old James. It was you that tracked down and posted the link from the atheist web page. Ancestor of yours?
Be sure you're playing for the right team Mr. B.
I don't think your goading old Mr.B is getting you anywhere. He seems to be a much better person than you (or me or any other of your liberal queer loving cronies.)

I guess being a homophobe blinds you to certain paths of thinking.
If he's a homophobe, you and your cronies are freaking angels. Reading his posts, I can clearly see where he said many times he doesn't approve of or believe that being queer (my words) is normal. Unlike me, he isn't near as crude and hateful towards queers as I am, but yet you queer-lovers run him and his religious beliefs in the ground. If he's a homophobe because he doesn't believe in queer lifestyles, what do you call the hateful shit you direct towards him and those of the same beliefs?

(P.S., I do not believe gays and whores are the worst of society, that's just the Christian view.)
I believe queers are the worst of any lifeform. At least a whore bangs men for bucks. Unlike a queer who would suck a snake if you held it's head still.

Let's try this again. Seems no one can man up and reply with a viable excuse.

Simple answer, I'm not being hateful. If it comes of that way then you are just insecure in what you believe. It's the same as having some fun with someone who is too old to believe in Santa, but still does.

It's fine that he doesn't "believe in the queer lifestyle" as no one is asking him to do so. As long as he doesn't force his beliefs on others, I for one wouldn't give a crap. There are those of us that will stand against discrimination.... that's just all there is to it.... Let's leave the world a better place than the way we found it.

News from Canton, NC.

Christianity, religion of peace and love.
It saddens us to report that due to the numerous threats and the verbal attacks on Kalei along with the vindictive which-hunt to hurt the reputations of affiliated local groups and our own family , Kalei will not be continuing with the group.

We have contacted GoFundMe and requested they return your generous donations. They have assured us that your funds will show back up in your respective accounts within 3 to 5 days.

Your love and support are priceless and we apologize in letting you down. It was our single goal to support Kalei in her efforts to start the much needed SSA club.

However, we never expected our family and friends to be sought out and demonized. Please know that we recognize the importance of the club but we can not justify our involvement with the risk of our families safety and well being.

Whatever his sexual orientation was, King James was ahead of his time
in pointing out the ill effects of tobacco in his work A Counterblaste to

The girl's a damn liar. The A frigging CLU and the Freedom From Religion Foundation found no basis for her claims. She's a pathetic, snot-nosed bitch who was only hoping to garner sympathy and more money for her cause. Your love and support my ass. Fail.

Jesus has returned? Perhaps another religion will begin? Man comes back from the dead.

Citation? You're a frickin' idiot.
Any student wanting to start a chapter of the Secular Student Alliance in this (red)neck of the woods has guts.
And why not? We could have used it when I was in high school many, many years ago. We were surrounded by "Jesus Freaks," wearing their tie-died t-shirts and waving their arms every morning. They were arrogant, snotty legalists who spouted the rules for going to heaven or hell. Sprinkled, not dunked? To hell with you. Can't give the exact hour you became saved"? Again, to hell with you.

The posers were allowed to bully and (try to) intimidate anyone who didn't share their narrow beliefs. I would have welcomed a safe haven for secularists.

Interesting. I am unable to find any mention of this in local media. If a kid gets sent home for wearing a rebel flag belt buckle or a Malcom X t-shirt, it's all over the news. Maybe these kids and their parents aren't attention whores.

It was on your local channel 13 news last night at 11. The school board denied any knowledge of a denial and the two Dipshits societies confirmed it after investigating the allegations. You poor old victim you. Nice to make your acquaintance. Jesus loves you.

That's not surprising; I always deny any knowledge of a denial. And I also never rely on confirmations by dipshits. I do want to say that I'm feeling particularly strong and faithful here of late, and am contemplating handling some snakes and perhaps some speaking in tongues later this weekend. Of course, it all depends on what sort of poison I happen to drink on that day. This is the religion thread, isn't it? Get some.

I can identify with your earth shattering plight. I believe in a Creator, but never did cotton much to religion or churches just because of what you described. Some one asked me if I was saved, and I asked from what? I was pretty much shunned by the church crowd.

Speaking of the Creator, I want to ask a question about the evolution notion you libtards embrace. If man evolved from a shit ball, oops that's queers---if man evolved from a ball of slime that crawled out of a swamp, how did those balls of slime know what to evolve into? I mean, there's humans, rats, giraffes, rhinos, birds, bugs, you get the picture. Seems no body can answer that one, can you?

Here's the 'Noah' Disclaimer Forced by Religious Critics

If non-literal biblical adaptations don't float your boat Paramount's going to make good and sure you and everyone else know that Darren Aronofosky's "Noah" is not 100 percent, to-the-letter faithful to its scriptural source material.

The studio is responding to pressure from various faith-based groups, spearheaded by the National Religious Broadcasters, and will append a message to new trailers and marketing materials clearly stating that the $125 million movie is not a verbatim retelling of the familiar Judeo-Christian tale...
 That's like appending a message to The Wizard of Oz clearly stating that the movie is not a verbatim retelling of the novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, or forcing rightwing ministers to utter disclaimers stating that their biblical sermons are skewed by their hateful modern prejudices.
Well, they can't exactly put "based on a true story".....
