Apparently she collected a fortune in donations in her SuperPAC during her campaign bus tour of the country - while deciding whether or not to run in 2012. As Stephen Colbert demonstrated, this money can then be pocketed.

No doubt her and Ted Cruz will do the same in 2016, whether or not they actually run. Which means less donations for serious candidates on the right. Granted, only 1.28% of the money given to Karl Rove's SuperPAC went to candidates that actually won.

Speaking of Karl Rove's SuperPAC, remember when it was discovered after the election that Crossroads GPS - a Virginia corporation - failed to register as a charitable organization in Virginia? Likely meaning that donors wouldn't even get their tax breaks? Whatever happened with that?

money. I believe the witch candidate from R.I. did the same thing, just to a
greater extreme (though not in dollar terms), practically living off her political
donations.

I recall reading a short article about the Crossroads/Virginia thing quite a

You don't have to be female. Even a Canadian can do it: Rafael "Ted" Cruz will probably spend the next few decades Newt Gingrich style alternating between being a Washington politician, then a Washington lobbyist with all the insider connections, then running again as a "Washington outsider." And Sarah Palin style collecting money with a SuperPAC while "exploring" whether to run again. And making paid appearances on Faux News and at Tea Party functions.

He already has his own coloring book. I bet Bush II wishes he thought of that.
