I never insisted any such a dunnit...you insinuated that I insisted whereas I said that sex was intended for males and females.
"If, like almost all couples, you are now having sex less often than you did 40 years ago does that mean that you are less straight than you were?" No....It only means I'm not the young buck I used to be. Nothing wrong with what we have now....I can still do it twice.

Like I said, be honest.
As an adult, I owned a house where the next-door neighbors were a lesbian couple, and across the back lane there was a gay couple. We were all friends. FAMILY friends. Their relationship status was still never relevant, nor was there any reason for it to be.
And I'm saying your both full of male bovine excrement. I'm sure we're all sooooo impressed that you had twat twinkies and faggots for neighbors and ya'll were a nice little circle jerk of friends. FAMILY friends even. The question was asked what you thought of the weirdos when you were kids and you both lied saying you didn't think of them or that you had tolerance (more stupid bullshit). Let me get this straight. Assuming your both straight, when you heard or found out that some kid was queer, you didn't think that his or her attraction to the same sex was strange? I'm sure you didn't think about it, rstrong, you just thought it a normal attraction? And you Verde, you automatically turned on your tolerance machine and said to yourself that you're going to spend the rest of your miserable existence crusading for their rights and fighting the hatred against their nasty perversions? Bullshit. You both reek of bullshit. You should follow O Really and take a long hot shower.Vrede wrote: Ditto, until my young teens, and then all I remember is tolerance on my part and the hatred expressed by others. Pretty interesting, I grew up in the opposite and was almost a Mr. B or Homerphobe. Thank goodness I escaped. It is really hard to see how hateful these people are until you escape it and look at it from your own moral views instead of others.Vrede wrote:There was no turning on my "tolerance machine", you've screwed up again. It's a shame that the upbringing you two had was so miserable but you're old enough that you should have overcome it by now.
I feel an understanding type of pity for them.

It simply wasn't an issue. Bigoted hatemongers like yourself ensured that a percentage of the population lived in secret and in fear.homerfobe wrote:The question was asked what you thought of the weirdos when you were kids and you both lied saying you didn't think of them or that you had tolerance (more stupid bullshit). One day it became a plot point in Soap. It meant little more than a new reason to laugh at bigots and hatemongers.
There were very few blacks or Asians around in northern Manitoba. But I still knew they were normal skin colors. Soap - and the media discussion about it that followed - showed that while gays were a minority, they were out there and had been through history....homerfobe wrote:I'm sure you didn't think about it, rstrong, you just thought it a normal attraction?
Jodie Dallas: Plato was gay.
Jessica Gatling Tate: Mickey Mouse's dog was gay?
Jodie Dallas: Goofy was his lover.
...And that it was no big deal.

Well, screw that. A well constructed post, and I'm forbidden. Argh!
Tell me what y'all think of this, and maybe I'll get back to it later.
When do we violate civil rights, and when do we exercise freedom of preferences?

Good lord, no wonder it's so hard for you to comprehend. After you twisted everything into next week, even I had trouble understanding what I said.Vrede wrote: "Yeah, it's hard to imagine what point Mr.B thought he was making......."
I gotta admit, you're good at twisting meanings to your advantage....very good. (Uhhh...that's not a compliment, btw.)

Re: The homophobic thread :>
Looking back I can say mine was a choice, but it certainly didn't feel like a choice at the time - hence why I feel some pity to homer and B. I can't really say any one thing that got through to me, but one of the most interesting revelations to me was that those people that I thought were anti-God/Evil -- were actually the ones trying to help me. Then I realized the sarcasm made me mad and resentful precisely because they had a point, and I could not argue it on a factual basis.
There's still hope that they may have a similar awakening before the end of their lives so that they too won't die bitter old codgers.

By what metrics are you measuring this decent into hell? If you think we're getting WORSE, you seriously need to read some history, even recent history. You are so out of touch with reality it's not even funny.Mr.B wrote:The "awakening" is already a reality; and we're not dead yet......the world's going to hell in a hand-basket.bannination wrote: "There's still hope that they may have a similar awakening before the end of their lives so that they too won't die bitter old codgers."

The whole "going to hell in a [INSERT RECEPTACLE OF CHOICE]" is a way of saying, "I'm an old poop and I want things comfy and familiar and reassuring like they used to be, justice and progress be damned." Nothing personal, Mr. B- that applies to all of us who utter that nonsense.bannination wrote:By what metrics are you measuring this decent into hell? Re: The homophobic thread :>
I myself suffered homophobia in my earlier years; me and my buddies in junior high school and even high school to some point were certainly not what you would call tolerant, much less respectful, of those sort of differences. But once I left my insular and isolated little world, I came to realize that people are different, brilliant, and just generally cool....reminds me of a line John Travolta said in the "Broken Arrow" movie; "I don't know what the big deal is; I really don't." Word is he's gay. I don't know what the big deal is.....bannination wrote:Pretty interesting, I grew up in the opposite and was almost a Mr. B or Homerphobe. Thank goodness I escaped. Those who called for a boycott of Eich's company called for it on an entirely voluntary basis. No-one tried to force their beliefs on FireFox users. No-one's rights were trampled.
Eich's financial support of Proposition 8 was support for an involuntary trampling of people's rights. Those responsible for Proposition 8 were forcing their beliefs on others.

I guess for the sake of consistency, polical correctness, and anti-bigotry all these companies should be boycottedVrede wrote:Any old worker is far different from a company's top leader. The folks at the routinely inaccurate American "Thinker" are being Chicken Littles.
Plus, Eich remains free to marry any bigot that will have him, unlike the right he would deny others. And, it's the homophobes that are still trying to deny jobs, retail good and services, etc. to gays.
Would you have a problem with his resignation if it turned out that Eich was a donor to the KKK, Wneglia?

Those companies did not donate to proposition 8. It's individual employees of those companies, and it's a safe bet that many other employees disagreed with them. Neither group speaks for the company.Wneglia wrote:I guess for the sake of consistency, polical correctness, and anti-bigotry all these companies should be boycotted
It's a different story when it's the CEO of a company.

The Chick fil A boycott worked out real well-right?Vrede wrote:You ducked my question, Wneglia, and rstrong trashed your diversion.
I'm fine with all boycotts. The unreasonable ones get few participants and, as we've seen with so many rightwingnut attempts, often get more PR and business for the target.
In this case the active homophobes are becoming as reviled as the racists of the past and there are economic consequences for it. So? The bigots have lost, deal with it.
