Re: The homophobic thread :>
Same sex marriage isn't gay privilege, it's equal rights. Privilege would be something like gay people not paying taxes. Like churches don't.

Re: The homophobic thread :>
The nerve of those homosexuals, parading around half-naked in their gaudy costumes. They shove their anti-religious, anti-moral, anti social dogma in our faces every day. They come to our cities to flaunt their perversions and gaudiness in front of our children and anyone else who will hopefully post them on Facebook or YouTube. The government has made these public displays of debauchery and un-natural affections completely street-legal. They shove their perversions -- ritualistic and carnal, and their abominations-- in our faces.

That one fact wrinkles hell out of the ungodly...despite the fact that a church (for the most part) is a non-profit, charitable assembly; yet this nation's largest corporations haven't paid taxes in years thanks to the corporate tax lawyers on their payroll who find ways to chalk up various deductions that this nations revenue service count as operating losses.....yet....you rarely hear the sarcasm. You do hear screaming and cursings demanding that a church be assessed taxation.bannination wrote: "Privilege would be something like......not paying taxes. Like churches don't." --Ricky Gervais

All taxes are not the same. Of course churches pay some taxes, such as sales tax on items purchased. And as registered not-for-profits, they don't pay income tax - much the same as other NFP's. The original theory is that government should not tax the income of a church because that interferes with the dreaded "separation" of church and state. The main point of contention, IMNVHO, is property tax. There is really no reason why a church - like other NFP's - should not pay property tax.Mr.B wrote:...despite the fact that a church (for the most part) is a non-profit, charitable assembly; yet this nation's largest corporations haven't paid taxes in years thanks to the corporate tax lawyers on their payroll who find ways to chalk up various deductions that this nations revenue service count as operating losses.....yet....you rarely hear the sarcasm. See how that works?Mr.B didn't. The whole point of the post was to take the incessant Christian bigot whine about gays and apply the same "reasoning" to Christians. Restoring it to the the incessant Christian bigot whine about gays accomplishes nothing. It's just dumb.

One Louisiana judge finds the state's marriage discrimination law to be Constitutional, meanwhile, a unanimous decision by the three-judge panel of the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago found the discriminatory laws in WI and IN to be (shock!) unconstitutional and chided the states' attorneys.

That's about 20 or so wins, one (temporary) loss.

Judge Richard Posner, appointed by Republican President Ronald Reagan in 1981, wrote the unanimous decision on behalf of a three-judge panel of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, calling the arguments against marriage equality "totally implausible."

In the sense of advocating death for homosexuals, that's not a Christian attitude.bannination wrote: "Hey Mr. B? True Christians or no?"

No cherries to pick, all have been harvested. You've already decided whether they do or don't....you're not goading me. :violent:Vrede wrote:"How do you decide which cherries to pick?...... Either the Leviticus rules apply or they don't"

I don't think there's any "goading" going on, it's a serious question. I'd like to know the answer as well.Mr.B wrote:No cherries to pick, all have been harvested. If you lived during old testament times with that apparently "different god" would you have helped kill the homo's as well?

Since I didn't live in the OT era, nor live in it now, I can't even begin to speculate how I would've reacted...however, there was no "different" God...apparently.bannination wrote: "....... it's a serious question. I'd like to know the answer as well.

Dummy.....I am not forced or disallowed to accept or reject anything. I am a human, just as you; not a programmed machine. A phobia is a fear; I have no fear of homosexuals, unless he/she's got a gun held to my head.Vrede wrote: ".......why aren't you allowed to reject homophobia?"
