The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Sure do...and he's absolutely correct...thanks for the link.
"Rev. Billy Graham.......has been listed as one of the most admired men by Gallup almost every year since 1955. Over the decades, his evangelical Christian message was heard, in person, on radio, and through television, by an estimated 2.2 billion people. Rev. Graham is often referred to as “America’s pastor.”

I guess Billy Graham is Mr.B's substitute for independent thought.
Oh wow, finally! He was in denial for so long and then all the sudden "yup and he's right".

Add that as another reason I don't trust most Christians religious people.

It's just weird that without this god taking credit for said plagues and disasters what point is this being trying to prove? That he can hurt people? Why target innocent people? Why not take credit for it? I guess the questions go on.....

That's all pretty f`cked up though. It's weird how religious people don't see a problem with that.

Catholics want to shut down Satanic church - not as a free speech issue, but because "it's real."

Daniels has a real day job -- he works as a restaurant cook -- but he insists he has supernatural powers that are so strong he claims he can give someone a death sentence.
How can you contain a guy with these powers in a mere prison? This guy poses a bigger threat than ISIS and Hitler combined.
they garnered almost no public notice at all until they threatened to desecrate the Holy Sacrament of the Catholic Church, the communion wafer, during a satanic ceremony.
As long as they don't desecrate good tasting crackers I guess I have no qualms with them. The moment they destroy some stroopwafels in their Satanic ceremony then it's on.

How do you desecrate something that instantly turns into Jesus's body when you eat it? Does desecrating it somehow take the magic out of the cracker?

New challenge for Vrede to run shrieking away from: Find an example - with links, (we know what a liar you are) - of any proof that that remark has any grain of truth in it. I've never hear or read anywhere that Billy Graham has blamed any malady, accident, or natural disaster on anyone's lack of faith, their morality, (or lack of) or sexual orientation; nor have I ever stated that I agreed with anyone else's laying blame for the same reasons.

Why are you such a bald-faced liar?

"I guess Billy Graham is Mr.B's substitute for independent thought."
So what part of "If I had to select one individual that I would really consider is grounded in The Word of God, it would be Billy Graham." went sailing over your head? Did it really go sailing over your head or are you just being dishonest again?

I'm quite capable of thinking for myself.

Here's one... http://billygraham.org/story/where-is-g ... sasters-2/

Another... "Our pride’s overthrow, whether it takes the form of a divorce, nervous breakdown, bankruptcy, job termination, becoming a victim of a crime, suffering from a natural disaster, or some other calamity that originated with Satan makes our apathy even more bitter. Only then do we realize that we pushed God out of the equation and have been trying to carry our lives all along. Only then do we realize the full taste of utter and total defeat.

Franklin Graham, not the original Billy), suggests NO was targeted because of the city's sinful reputation. "Hurricane Katrina damaged the city of New Orleans in what seems like biblical proportions. Some say the human suffering alone could be a part of God's plan."

Another guy... http://www.christianpost.com/news/natur ... ion-97188/

Just examples...it's not like similar references by many claiming to be religious leaders are hard to find, including in lists of Billy Graham's quotes and his book "Storm Warning."

In this interview with Dr. Erwin Lutzer......
Inasmuch as Dr. Lutner was writing under Billy Graham's letterhead, the Gospel According to Vrede © demands that Dr. Graham be held accountable for the article, and the writing should be viewed as though Dr. Graham said it himself. ;)

Very well could be, but as you pointed out, Billy didn't say it....... nor can anyone actually know or predict God's Plan.

I'm thinking some of your fellow Christians would disagree with you. I can't tell you how many times I've seen "Come Learn about God's Plan for You" or some variation thereof on signs outside Protestant churches. Maybe they know something you don't?
Some even say God told them personally about it... http://www.godsplanforall.com/
