I consider myself a doom connoisseur, yet I've never heard of this band before:



Man this song is great. Something about clean female vocals over crushing bass/guitars that just sounds so good. Doom bands like these are hard to come by, especially ones with a unique sound like these guys. Watch the rest of the album be terrible. Hope not but we shall see.

Ah, yes. The good old days of cherry bombs and hard drinking. In those days, all that music was amplified through vacuum tubes, which I have become seriously involved with these past few years. There's just nothing like it; no comparison at all between Japanese transistors and vintage European and American tubes. Check it out.

Just heard that Bobby Keys, longtime sax player with the Rolling Stones died today at 70 at home in Franklin, TN. RIP and happy trails. Incidentally, he was born on the same day as Keith Richards.....

I used to go to trivia night at a local restaurant. One of the questions was about a book called Picture of ___ ___. I got "Dorian Gray" mixed up with "Matchstick Men" and figured Status Quo probably named their song after the book, so I answered "Pictures of Matchstick Men."

It was supposedly named after some painter whose figures resembled "matchstick men." I got that from Wiki so don't know if it's actually true or not.

I've seen an ad for Indian motorcycles lately that has the old Chambers Brothers song "Time Has Come Today" as its background....it takes me back to old memories....not of motorcycles, though.
