GUANTANAMO

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Let's hope Canada puts him before a firing squad. Like we should do with our citizens that are traitors.

Canada doesn't execute anyone, the US doesn't execute 15 year olds, Khadr is not alleged to have fired on Canadians, his "confession" was extracted after torture, and most of the world sees child soldiers as victims.

You sure pack a lot of misinformation into 2 sentences.
Yep those bad people came and got him in his pajamas and took him to Afghanistan. He is no longer 15. When a rabid dog attaches neighborhood children the dogs age is of no consequence. We should shot rabid dogs and citizens that betray our country to Muslims.

Christ, Hugh, Vrede just said that this guy didn't fire on Canadians. So how exactly did he betray his country?

Vrede, why didn't Canada try to get the 15 year old released much sooner if your acusations are valid?

Next you will be lobbying for John Walker to be released. You know the John Walker that was actively involved in the battle that killed Central Intelligence Agency officer Johnny "Mike" Spann.

I guess we should shoot and kill all the African children torn from their villages and force to kill and maim. Kinda like Hitler did with the youth of Germany!

Remember Obama promised to close Guantanamo. Since he lied why are you liberals still supporting him?

He tried, he failed, it's a lie to say that he lied.

I am disappointed that he didn't try harder, but McCain wouldn't have tried at all, and Mitten won't try. You're not making sense, as usual.
This now takes first place overall in the game of Vred and Twisting. Now read carefully.
Obama said he was going to close Guantanamo and didn't and it's not a lie. Wow just Wow. :wtf: :problem:
Oh and I like the Blame everyone else for his failure.

Obama signed an executive order to close Guantanamo, on day one of his presidency. That and other attempts were blocked by Congress. It's not so much a lie, as a damning lack of leadership.

But even excusing THAT, even accepting that closing Guantanamo was blocked by Congress: It's not Guantanamo being still open that's the problem. It's the torture - not just of terrorists but of people merely suspected to have a connection to terrorism. It's the imprisoning them without charges, indefinately. Out of the 779 people who have been detained there - including at least four children - only four men charged have been tried. Four men tried compared to eight who have died there. Some prisoners have been there almost a decade. Men cleared for release remain imprisoned.

No, Colonel Taylor, Obama didn't lie. His record is far, far worse than a mere lie.

Colonel, we must remember that in Vrede's world Obama would never make a false statement because his base wants to hear it. He is no dummy and he knew he could not close it, but what the hell, it will help the election effort and the mindless people who listen to me will believe it.

BUT, it is not a lie.

When Vrede starts responding to his own posts I know I got his "goat". Please get in touch with Skin as you two have so much in common.

BBC: Six men released from Guantanamo Bay arrive in Uruguay

Around half of the 136 men still in Guantanamo have been cleared to leave. They're just not allowed to.

A good overview:
