He was a bright kid, which didn't help things right? Made him more dangerous.

He was kinda not takin' the lord serious. And I walked over to him, and I went BAM!!! I punched him in the chest as hard as I could. I crumpled the kid!

I led that man to the lord right there. There's times when that may be needed.

"He was a bright young man ....a smart kid...... "
Despite the fact that this 'pastor' was an ass, where, other than in the taunting, mis-leading headline, did he say he punched "other people's children" ? Youth Revivals attendees generally are made up of older teens, not "children".
Still...stupid, stupid, stupid.

"Young man" is often used to address male children.Mr.B wrote:Despite the fact that this 'pastor' was an ass, where, other than in the taunting, mis-leading headline, did he say he punched "other people's children" ?
In the video the pastor uses the descriptions "youth", "nice kid", "kid", "bright kid", "in a youth group", "I crumpled the kid".
At no time does the pastor imply that the kid was his own.
What part of this do you not understand?

Brittni Danielle
The article reeks heavily of racial-bias overtones. She said all the reported terror attacks were on Caucasian people, including the attack in Yemen where 40 people were killed by terrorists. (the "40 people" were police trainees).
It's bad enough that the incident in question occurred. The world is growing weary of terror-related killings and bombings; because this incident in Colorado didn't cause major damage or produce causalities; I believe the media felt other terror-associated news stories merited more attention. She was miffed because of that.
She must be on Al Sharpton's payroll.

New York Times: Bob Jones University Blamed Victims of Sexual Assaults, Not Abusers, Report Says
For decades, officials at Bob Jones University told sexual assault victims that they were to blame for their abuse, and to not report it to the police because doing so would damage their families, churches and the university, according to a long-awaited independent report released Thursday.

Are full moon effects part of Christian theology? A full moon makes the heathen criticize church child abuse?Mr.B wrote:Y'all on a roll tonight....and the full moon's done passed.
Admittedly, I was surprised a couple years ago to find out that the Lock Ness Monster was part of Christian theology. The earliest reference being Saint Columba converting the Picts to Christianity by ordering Nessie to bugger off.
Lacking serpent attacks, I guess the holy have to fall back on abusing children to convert them.

Pastor brags about punching ‘dangerously bright’ kid
"In the video, an unnamed pastor talks about his days of being a youth pastor...."
This has the smell of b.s. all the way....
An "unnamed pastor"? Gimme a break. Why did the author of the piece take the time to post the story, if the author didn't have credible evidence? Who sits in church videoing the service? (other than the church's videographers) Again, I call it religion bashing. I don't believe any pastor would punch a kid.

So...because I post something, you all have an obligation to comment on it? There is no "context or link" because I looked up who the author of your link was, posted her photo... and I was not surprised to see the race of the author. As stated, I feel the piece was nothing more than a racially-charged blah, blah, blah. Shades of Al Sharpton.
I fully expected to be castigated over posting her photo and criticizing her writing, and I don't really care whether you or any of the others "has the energy" to agree or disagree with what I "chose not to".

I don't know. Why did you post about Brittni Danielle when we can't discuss her since you failed to provide context or a link? Does that mean your post is?
I didn't post "about" Brittni Danielle; I posted her photo that came from her blog site. There was nothing in her site that was relevant to her racial-baiting post on Yahoo.
Who sits in church videoing the service?
21st Century much? People video everything, probably some of them for their shut-in friends and relatives that can't make it to church.
And how would you know that people video church services? When was the last time (or first) you ever darkened the door of a church? Sure, people video everything, including their conceitedness of themselves, but I have never seen anyone in any church I've ever attended videoing the service; other than a special event such as a wedding or a play their child was in. Churches that have a videographer make recordings of the service and make them freely available to anyone wanting one; and they're not videoed from a side angle.
Videoing in a church service is as tasteless and rude as eating or texting. There is still some unspoken civility and respect in a church service; regardless of the century we live in; of course, you wouldn't know that.
Again, I call it religion bashing.
Of course you do. You knee-jerk dismiss everything that makes religion look bad, just like the sex abuse hiding folks at BJU did.
The God-haters shriek about Christians who get upset so easily when they feel they are quote: "victims", but it's perfectly OK when a God-hater posts some made-up garbage like that video (with no credibility) in order to put Christians in a bad light.
I don't believe any pastor would punch a kid.
You're now backtracking from twice calling him "an ass". Why is that?
The person depicted in that video is an ass, whether he's a Christian or not; I'm not backtracking, because I don't believe he's a pastor. Generally when the God-haters post a video like that, they take the pains to get his name and location so as to embarrass Christianity and allow other God-haters to send hate mail. You do remember the most recent incident that was posted involving the Black pastor of the church in Houston, don't you? His name and his church's name was made public. Hate of Christianity and love of their blunders is food for the souls of the God-haters.
Now, about your inability to understand that he's talking about beating "Other people's children"?
I understand it perfectly. The headline was meant to be misleading so as to appear that "children" meant little kids; another way to rile the God-haters. The man in that video is still a grade-A ass.

A black person writing about racism in white media - who would have guessed? I am not surprised that you dismiss her view, and that you do so because she is black. You've made your racism clear. Shades of David Duke.
So how long has it been determined that Yahoo is "white media"? I'm not spouting racism; I'm ridiculing her complaining that an attack on the NAACP didn't warrant as much coverage as the situation in France, and that her complaint about same is because she is Black, and she obviously feels that an attack against a Black organization(with no major damage or causalities) should have been right in there with the world's major news items.
You must be on David Duke's payroll.
No....he's got enough problems; he don't need me.

Look at the YT results; the videos are recorded in a straight shot that comes from an area directly opposite where the pastor's pulpit is located; not at an angle that shows it was shot from a pew. I still believe the video in this discussion is a fake.

Some people just lack empathy and become plain old nasty for whatever reason unknown to me. Some of the kindest people I've ever met were "counter-culture" types at some shady venues that looked like they had just climbed out of a dumpster or something, and some of the nastiest, most disrespectful, judgmental assholes I've ever met were nicely dressed middle-class church goers that used to look at me with contempt when I used to work at a gas station. Unfortunately from what I've learned so far in life there's no avoiding this anywhere. Even where I work now I'm surrounded by negative, egotistical, spiteful, sociopaths. These people are everywhere, and it beats you down if you let your guard down even for a moment. It's very contagious.Mr.B wrote:Vrede wrote:

I don't know where I'm going with this man, I guess what I'm trying to say is everyone should just be cool with everyone because assholes are everywhere including positions of power, and they're not worth anyone's time, they just bring everyone else down because they're miserable people and that's their goal. Don't ever let any tensions go unresolved.
You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.
