I don't think it's totally bogus, I can certainly see more insured people in blue states with better healthcare. Probably less rednecks doing stupid stuff too.

At the top of my list of bogusity is that "liberal" and "conservative" are very subjective, self-defined, and self-identified. That's like letting Mr.B identify "Christians." Further, to your point - well taken though it may be - the study didn't limit where the "liberals" and "conservatives" lived. To be valid, a liberal in Mississippi should, on average, live longer than a conservative in Mississippi. Nevertheless, I like the concept and findings. The sooner the right-wingers die off, the better.

One might argue that liberals are more intelligent, or at least better educated, and more likely to eat better, exercise more, and, as you noted, avoid "we wuz all sittin' around drinkin'" stories, but that didn't seem to be at the heart of the study.

I don't know if "bogusity" is the correct term; perhaps "bogusism" or "bogusosity" would be better. In any case, rednecks can always be counted on to do stupid stuff, especially in Mississippi. You bet'cha.
