Do you want people to accept you as you are, or do you want them to like you? Struggle with that.

My bad, I was not aware that the King James Bible was something only Catholics followed. Though I suspect it's just something you personally wouldn't follow because you decide what to follow on a case by case basis as has been noted many times previously.Mr.B wrote:Couldn't tell you; I'm not Catholic.bannination wrote:Oh, is that another rule that's ignored?Mr.B wrote:I didn't know Catholics had to do that.bannination wrote:...and if raped, gotta remember to pay the father. So, what bible do you follow Mr. B? Why is this commandment not in your version?

Mr.B has stated outright, earlier in this thread, that he doesn't consider the Old Testament to be part of Christianity. Granted, he has some obscure mathematical formula whereby on certain days it suddenly becomes part of Christianity and he can quote from it.bannination wrote:My bad, I was not aware that the King James Bible was something only Catholics followed. Not to be confused with the New Testament, where again he applies an obscure mathematical formula. In this case telling him which pages are part of Christianity and which are not. Paul's letter to the Corinthians for example: Some directives he considers sacrosanct and must be obeyed, and others he simply rejects outright.
No word on whether he has a magic decoder ring to help determine which bits are canon.

and then there were these assholes - not sure which version they use - maybe bb knows
Spouting their usual anti-everyone rhetoric, the Westboro Baptist Church encouraged adherents to bring their hate signage to Leonard Nimoy's funeral this week. Alas, their goal of opposing what we can only imagine was Spock's mixed human-Vulcan lineage was thwarted. "Leonard Nimoy's funeral is today, but nobody is sharing WHERE. So Westboro AND @WilliamShatner can't attend

If it helps, they edited out a bunch of books and beliefs three or four hundred years after JC. On the other hand they added in some later fan fiction (The Book of Revelation.)bannination wrote:BTW, seems like a huge oversight for an omnipotent being to not put in place some sort of inflation rules.
It's been a while since the Book of Mormon. We're about due for another sequel.

So p.b---what's your point? Are you that obsessed with rape ? Or are you pissed because the verses only deal with male/female sex? If you'd rather read about "gay" sex, I suggest you go back to your "gay" sex websites and stop screaming about the Bible because it condemns your lifestyle.pea dot brain wrote:"..so which book does bb use - pretty much all of them have the same bull...."

So why can't I have a biblical conventional marriage with multiple women? It's that another one you guys try to cover up?Mr.B wrote:So p.b---what's your point? Are you that obsessed with rape ? Well, Brigham Young had that all figured out for a while. But who the hell would want to be married to more than one woman at the same time? Sounds like a hell on earth to me.bannination wrote:So why can't I have a biblical conventional marriage with multiple women? I'd say there are many non-biblical reasons for not having multiple wives.bannination wrote:So why can't I have a biblical conventional marriage with multiple women?
