Re: The Religion Thread
I don't know, of course, but I'm guessing the original translations may have missed something. Encouraging live humans to eat real flesh from a several day old dead body (which would definitely stinkith, wouldn't' have any drinkable blood left by then anyway, and would likely make the eater deathly ill) doesn't sound like something that would gain much of a following. But if the original language meant something like "internalize" and not literally "eat" and "drink" then you've got something to hang a reasonable hat on.

I've 'spoken' to a few former posters who have said that silly, immature crap like this is why they choose not to return to these forums. Whether they support any "religiosity" or not, they recognize blasphemous garbage when they see it.
It was suggested I should depart the forums. I know you are doing these posts in an attempt to encourage me to take the advice. If you could only realize how pathetic and childish you are. (oh wait, never mind, you know already)

Not everything revolves around you Mr. B.... no matter how much you like to think so.
They left because they simply can't hold their own and needed protecting by a father like figure so they don't have to face reality.

Ha, just re-read this and realized it was the point your were making.bannination wrote:What's cool is he's a reverse zombie too, he doesn't mind if you eat him.O Really wrote:There might be something to the zombie line of thought. Then again, hanging on a cross killed him in record time. I don't know.
And then we have John 6:53, "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.""Take this and eat it, for this is my body."
I'm all derp.

Re: The Religion Thread
Mr. B, on an anonymous forum on the internet you're going to see tons of immature, sometimes offensive stuff, it's just the nature of the beast, but that's also what makes anonymous internet forums fun and entertaining. Same thing happened at GoUpstate - posters would get mad and throw a fit and leave because someone offended them and they couldn't take it. We all get mad sometimes when people insult us on the internet, including me, but it's best to take everything with a grain of salt and just brush it off. The moment you get mad at someone posting offensive things on the internet is the moment they control you. When an anonymous person from who knows where gets a rise out of you, you're no longer in control, they are. That's their aim and by taking the bait and falling into their trap you lose. Like that saying goes - "don't feed the trolls".Mr.B wrote:On religious holidays, non-religious folks go full retard as well; posting senseless junk like this thinking they're cute...same oldOn Dec. 28th., 2012, Bannination wrote: "No kidding, some religious folk go full retard!"year after year, same old trying to out-do each other with their style of "intelligence".

Thanks, JTA; I appreciate your input.
As anyone here that has "known" me for any length of time can tell you, I'm not that easily rattled. They've always tried to get a rise out of me ever since I began posting. For the most part, I laughed it off or ignored it. When my wife gets thrown into the affray, I draw the line. Ever since that day it happened, I began to take steps to ensure that I had some ammunition to fire back with. I'm retired and have a lot of time on my hands...it's amazing what can be found on the Internet when you really put forth some effort and time.
I wouldn't say that I'm "no longer in control"; nor would I say that I'm particularly "in control" either. I'm going to protect myself.
That's their aim and by taking the bait and falling into their trap you lose. Like that saying goes - "don't feed the trolls".
Let's just say that my aim has greatly improved. I don't like threatening anyone or being threatened. We can continue to disagree as always; as long as it's left at that.
Thanks again.

Not everyone who has departed were having issues with other posters or "reality". There's a number that sided with 'you and yours' that left; they're the ones who recognized the "garbage" I spoke of. 'You and yours' are the ones who are slowing killing your forum.bannination wrote:"They left because they simply can't hold their own and needed protecting by a father like figure so they don't have to face reality."Mr.B wrote: "I've 'spoken' to a few former posters who have said that silly, immature crap like this is why they choose not to return to these forums. Well, we made it past Easter without a zombie acopolypse, and the A'ville loonies are complaining about nuns on a bus and the "affronts" or "attacks" on Christianity. Sorta like Wal-Mart complaining about being persecuted because some little town in Vermont declined their permit.

A new twist on a wedding cake for a "gay" wedding! I love it!Colonel Taylor wrote:I Have a Right to A Bacon Sandwich in a Muslim Deli

"By using the logic of a liberal, it’s acceptable for government to force a Muslim deli owner to violate his religious convictions so I can eat crispy, salty meat candy on wheat toast."
No need to c&p any more, the article says it very well! Good article Colonel Taylor!

Re: The Religion Thread
Funny.
But nothing anybody but an idiot would take seriously. Nevermind the "right" to a specific food is not established just because he's in a "pursuit of happiness." The real difference here is in the nature of a business open to the public. The Muslim deli doesn't have to offer bacon sandwiches on its menu any more than the vegan place does or the local car dealer. The cake baker doesn't have to offer wedding cakes. But if they offer to anyone, as a public establishment, they have to offer to everyone. A couple doesn't have a right to a wedding cake from a business that doesn't sell wedding cakes, no matter what the reason is they don't sell them. Now if Mr. Bacon-lover goes to his closest Hardee's and wants a bacon cheeseburger but the restaurant won't sell him anything with bacon because he's morbidly obese already, then he's got a point.

This whole controversy is the result of a cascading series of government intrusions into areas it doesn’t belong.
In the mind of a liberal, we are better off when the government uses force to make us comply against our wishes.

If the establishment makes just cakes then you are correct they should offer it to anyone, if the folk wants two men or two women on the top and the baker doesn't offer that or even stock such a item because of their religious believes isn't that the same?O Really wrote:Funny.

Personally if you don't want my business see ya later I'll give it to someone who does.
