So the carry law worked as it was meant to. Some jerk who had no permit or right to carry a gun was confronted by someone who had the proper credentials. Carrying a 22 isn't much better then carrying a knife to a gun fight anyway.

Well it appears from the article that carry law didn't matter except in the filing of charges.
"He said the only thing that kept the situation from turning deadly was his wife walking, and a passerby, walking out of the station at the right moment.
"They absolutely kept that man's life for him. I had already pulled my trigger to the point where it clicked and another half pound -- 230 grains to his brain. He would have been done," said Young"
So it was actually more a matter of luck that nobody got shot in a dumb confrontation. But it would have been fun to see the look on the guy's face when Allen drew the .45.

I venture to say that luck reigns in Union County on a pretty much daily basis; I figure probably 80% of Union County residents own firearms.....that's a lot of luck.
