Race, lets make this serious! It is nearly 2013.

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Another one:

Meet the Native American Rachel Dolezal

I don't care how people ID themselves politically/socially/spiritually/psychologically/culturally, etc., including "pure white" racists that are really mixed race, but this lying about DNA is disgusting and harmful to whatever cause is espoused.

Somebody should have gotten a hint when she wasn't a tribal member. Standards aren't that high in regard to how purebred you have to be. Anybody with her public claim should surely have been in the tribe. I wonder what her answer was if anyone asked. And if no one ever asked, why not? I would have. Not as interrogation or disbelief, but as a matter of interest. "Are you in the Eastern Band?" Do you participate in Tribal activities or work with the government?" Yada. Normal conversation.

Tell Governor McCrory and Leaders in Raleigh to Stop Passing the Buck: (petition)

With the South Carolina legislature and Governor finally agreeing to remove the Confederate flag from the SC State Capitol, it's time for North Carolina's politicians to get on the right side of history.

But instead of acting, Governor McCrory and leaders in the legislature like Sen. Berger just keep pointing fingers and passing the buck on who is responsible for North Carolina's Confederate license plate.

There is simply no reason for the state to continue to officially sanction and authorize a symbol of racism and hate for millions of Americans. It's time for our politicians in Raleigh to lead and halt the DMV from issuing any more Confederate flag license plates.
My added comment: Also, cancel the validity of and replace the slaver flag plates that have been issued.

How old is your petition link?

McCrory wants to pull Confederate flag off NC specialty plates
Posted June 23, 2015

Again, this: "Long a flashpoint for racial tension, the Confederate battle flag has seized headlines in recent days after a white supremacist opened fire inside a historic black church in Charleston, S.C., killing nine people at a Bible study class."

That flag must have beaten him over the head rather severely to make him do that.

Dang, for a supposed investigative journalist you sure such at investigation and comprehension:

That you are dishonest enough to create such a lame strawman is a given. That you're stupid enough to repeat it over and over makes you "special".

Right now, the DMV is responsible; do you think they're going to kill the cash cow as long as there's money pouring in to buy them?

Wussy dodge of your screwing up the timeliness of the petition.

You may be correct about McCrory and the NC GOP's DMV, I wouldn't know. If so, you just proved that the petition is spot on. I won't hold my breath waiting for you to figure or to grow a pair and admit it if you do.

"Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger's office said McCrory doesn't need legislative approval to remove the flag from the tags, noting DMV is in charge of approving specialty plate designs."

What part of "Right now, the DMV is responsible; do you think they're going to kill the cash cow as long as there's money pouring in to buy them?" are you having trouble understanding?

   More wussy dodging.

Your Berger quote confirms that McCrory can act but hasn't. Thus, your questioning of the timeliness of the petition is stupid and your post about what McCrory supposedly "wants" is irrelevant. As I guessed, you don't have the balls to admit it when you flub, poor thing.

From ColorOfChange:
It’s been 77 years since civil rights activist and poet Langston Hughes wrote his chilling poem “Kids Who Die,” which illuminates the horrors of lynchings during the Jim Crow era. Now, as we approach the one year mark of the tragic police killing of Michael Brown and the Ferguson uprising that sparked a growing movement, Hughes' words painfully still ring true today.

Frank Chi, progressive media consultant, and Terrance Green, a filmmaker and strategist, have created a powerful video visualizing the injustice of current day police violence through Hughes' poem. Inspired by the incredible acts of resistance that have taken place since August of last year, Terrance and Frank's creative work confronts the reality of what it means to be Black in America.

August 9th is a big day for the movement and many of us will wrestle with the weight of it's many meanings. While this Sunday represents a day of unconscionable tragedy, it also marks the re-birth of a powerful Black-led movement to end systemic racism that is poised to change the world.

Oath Keepers Turn Up at Michael Brown Protests in Ferguson, Missouri

Redneck ammosexuals, armed and looking for trouble. What could possibly go wrong?

What could possibly go wrong? This maybe? In watching this video, it appears that the shooting was coming from the blackneck ammosexuals who were looting and looking for trouble.
Patricia Bynes, Democratic Committeewoman of Ferguson Township, went to check on the protests early Tuesday and was surprised to find the Oath Keepers amid a heavy police presence.
"They just showed up, walking around carrying their assault rifles," she told NBC News. "There really was no need."
Agreed. They weren't protecting businesses from looting and vandalism.

Bynes said the Oath Keepers' presence detracted from the real issues at heart: racial inequality.
"Racial Equality"? Yeah right. This was no demonstration for "racial equality". This fiasco was nothing but a gathering to loot, pillage, and vandalize, and to memorialize a former street thug.

"I would rather the story be on things we're working on in Ferguson and not the Oath Keepers," she said.
Yes, it would be nice if the story was centered on race relations being improved in Ferguson, but as long as the Black community continues to run this "Black unarmed teenager" story into the ground, there will be no peace.

I think we could all agree that people carrying or waving guns in an angry crowd is not a good thing. And we can probably agree that those who are looting didn't show up at the protest for, as they say on "Bachelorette" "the right reasons." But I also thing it's a reasonable question to ask, "if you've got a situation where there's an angry crowd and people running around looting, does it make the police job easier or more difficult if you also have a bunch of Oaf - er Oath people waving badass looking rifles around? Do the Oath people help to defuse or incite the situation? Is there any circumstance you can think of that an instance of an Oath person shooting a cop or another civilian - even if the civilian were looting - could improve the situation?

Firemen responding to a fire do not spray more fire on the already-burning combustibles.

I'll bet they wouldn't let the Oath people stand around and toss gas on it, either.
