If Franken-storm Sandy disrupts voting, what then?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

If Franken-storm Sandy disrupts voting, what then?

Unread post by gongoozler »

Sandy may combine with a Nor'easter making it a huge slow moving storm through the most densely populated area of the US. Suppose there are blackouts for weeks -- what happens on Election Day? Do they move to paper ballots by candlelight? This is a real possibility. Lower voter turnout would affect Obama more than Romney, especially in the northeast.

An expected increase in gas prices a week before the election would not set well with the peoples.

I agree. However, the actual election day is 10 days away. I would expect most services will be back by then, especially in metro areas. It will impact early voting.

Diebold will show a Romney landslide in the Northeast, and the Supreme Court will declare Romney "Ruler for Life."

You guys changed the election date?

Or did you fall for one of those phone calls?

Lord knows, you fall for everything else that comes down the pike.

The Weather Channel is saying that power could be out to many areas for a couple of weeks, or more.

NYC just suspended transit service. I'm sure it's a republican conspiracy to suppress early voting.

They've been getting slammed by storms the past few years. Hurricane Irene, that huge storm system that happened back in July (that I had to drive through!), flooding, and now another hurricane.

Nice bit of humor in the face of impending disaster ... really, sometimes that's needed.

I grew up along the coast and 99% of the folks are having a good ole time. Back in the day we would be 4 wheelin on the beach on a day like today, Ahh the good ole days. You have the few who get their panties in a wad. The worse are the Rich and Inconsiderate on the beach who wonder why their houses get flooded.

Sarah Palin will run for governor of Washington state, with a harbor seal as lieutenant governor, and win.....
