God's candidates

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

God's candidates

Unread post by bannination »

I thought it'd be interesting to keep track of which republican's boldly say they're chosen by god.

I'll start:

Scott Walker: (Not only has he been chosen, he needs your $$$!)
My relationship with God drives every major decision in my life. Each day I pray and then take time to read from the Bible and from a devotional named Jesus Calling.

As you can imagine, the months leading up to my announcement that I would run for President of the United States were filled with a lot of prayer and soul searching.

Here’s why: I needed to be certain that running was God’s calling -- not just man’s calling. I am certain: This is God’s plan for me and I am humbled to be a candidate for President of the United States.

Now, it is up to the voters to decide who will win the election. If you support my conservative campaign, please join my team right now with $10, $35, $50, $100, or even $250 today.

Maybe he should just ask God for it seeing as how they're such bros.

Yeah, I've always wondered about that. Under what rational thought could a conversation be, "Scott - I, God, creator of all universe and master of infinity, would like you to run for President of the US. But I'm not going to actually help you with that, and if the voters listen to Satan and don't recognize that you're My choice, then, oh well. "

I'd rather know he was asking God for help, rather than Satan. There's a movie in there somewhere.

If I were walking around in the street telling random people with a straight face that God chose me to be president I'd probably be locked up in an asylum.

If you were walking around in the street telling random people with a straight face that the devil chose you to be president, you'd probably be locked up in an asylum as well .

The devil already picked Donald Trump though.

Then el Chapo is the devil!

(Donald) Trump posted numerous tweets Sunday about El Chapo, who broke out of a maximum-security prison in Mexico on Saturday, marking the second escape from a security facility for the nation's most notorious drug kingpin.

"Mexico's biggest drug lord escapes from jail. Unbelievable corruption, and USA is paying the price. I told you so!" tweeted Trump, who has been touting a need to build a wall across the U.S.-Mexico border that he wants the Mexican government to fund.

Then, writing in the third person, Trump added: "Can you envision Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton negotiating with 'El Chapo,' the Mexican drug lord who escaped from prison? Trump, however, would kick his ass!"

A response to Trump was posted later that day in Spanish to a Twitter account attributed to El Chapo, which read, "Keep f—ing around, and I will make you swallow your whore words...." It was not immediately clear who wrote the message.

It's almost as if reality TV is spilling over into real life. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a twitter flame war between Trump and El Chapo.

With the accumulated wealth of el Chapo, he's in the position to make good his threats. What's a few poorly-armed Secret Service agents and a few body guards to a man who can buy whatever the limits of his wealth can buy?

It seems that El Chapo (if it was him) is intentionally boosting Trump's candidacy. Funny that.

That's true. But why is it that some people can walk around telling people that God wants them to run and they don't get hauled away? If Huckleberry said he was the Devil's candidate, would he get the same pass he does claiming to be God's guy? And if he said he was the Devil's guy and got hauled away, would it be because it was clear he was crazy, or because he was the victim of religious discrimination?

Huckleberry has often claimed a devine canidiocy.
Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”

That he has. And yet - nobody has hauled him away. I wonder why that is.

15 GOP candidates, most chosen by God, or so they say.
Maybe God is not indivisible after all. :(
