Screw that. I (we) might be wrong, and have no problem admitting it, but starting with the husband was not an unreasonable approach. In more cases than not, when a spouse turns up dead the other spouse is involved. In cases where the live spouse has a very convenient alibi and "finds" the dead one, the percentage gets even higher.

I was unaware this thread was about homerfobe, rather it was dealing with a news event. He says he is black, why should we call him a liar?

I see nothing that indicates he is self-loathing; nor do I suspect he is homosexual; closeted or practicing. I am also under the impression that a debate forum is to "debate" current issues and events, not a venue to attack and tear down another individual. Simply put, why can't you be content to attack the message rather than the message and the messenger?

Homo never debates a topic; he simply bashes all things homosexual. In fact, I think when he posted "Thinking things through seldom occurs in a crime of opportunity. Sharp minds and/or thinkers not required" may have been his only post ever that was on point without gay-bashing. Didn't take him long to revert to type, though. But as such, he's been a pretty constant source of entertainment for a long time, and I have no doubt he enjoys it.

Apparently, Seth Milner thinks that blatant, vile racism is "debating" current issues and events, that homo's "message" is valid, that this is normal behavior for someone that calls himself black and that it doesn't merit attacking and tearing down the messenger. Seth Milner's defense of the slaver flag is now much more clear.

Or, this is just back to whining about me and if making a fool of himself by hypocritically whitewashing and defending a racist pig is the mechanism for doing that, so be it.

I always enjoy the way analogies get mangled over time. The original idea of "shoot the messenger" was based on a situation where the messenger was not responsible for the message. The guy who reports that the battle was lost isn't the guy who caused the battle to be lost. On the other hand, if the "messenger" is the creator of the message, they are one and the same thus bashing the "messenger" is perfectly appropriate. (just my never very humble opinion)

In fact, I did not attack the "message" of the perps being dumb, I posted it first, or the "message" of them being black, it was already very likely before their pics were released. Rather, I attacked the embellishment that was entirely "the messenger's" creation, something Seth Milner whitewashed (get it?) with "unorthodox" and I let him slide on until he chose to defend the racist pig.

I look at it like this: if a person says/posts something for which there is viable argument (typically an opinion), then I think s/he's entitled to a rational response. That response might include contrasting opinion, conflicting facts, or some version of "prove it." But if that person says/posts something that is presented as fact and is totally and demonstrably wrong, then use of the term "idiot" doesn't seem an unreasonable response. If Trump wants to say that some Muslims in the US celebrated 9/11, he may be right, and maybe a reasonable response might be "who and where?" But if he says "10,000 celebrated in the streets of Jersey City" and he saw a video of it on TV, then no response giving any credibility to him is necessary or appropriate. A perfectly appropriate response would be (or whatever version is printable or could be said on TV news), "Bullshit! If you believe that with zero evidence it ever happened, you're an idiot and think all the rest of us are worse idiots."

On this tangent, one will often see racists post that blacks commit a disproportionate share of crime, which is true. However, what they neglect to mention and will throw tantrums about if you point it out is the fact that if one adjusts for age and economic status - it's standard statistical practice to address all variables - the racial disparity almost entirely disappears. No one ever accuses bigots of being smart or honest.
