Could be, but his reference was to his fear of a random robbery. I don't know why he would go all Rambo and endanger himself and innocents in order to protect Dollar General's insured cash.

When your job is to expose and bring to justice the frauds, sleazebags, and senior-adult robbers, you don't go un-noticed. Have either of you ever had a credible threat on your life?O Really wrote: Maybe, or maybe somebody really is out to get him. If so, precautions would be different from somebody who has no real risks but likes the idea of packing heat "to perteck my fambly" from unspecified hobgoblins.
Remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't really after you. And if they are really after you, paranoid is a survival skill.

Re: Gun Legislation

Ummm, I've chosen both a career and an avocation - direct action politics - where the threat of violence is ever-present and the reality is frequent. Contrast this with desk-bound muckraking. You're projecting, again.Seth Milner wrote:If I knew your name, I would love to read a news story where you were in a C-store or drug store when an armed thug came in to rob it. You'd probably be begging someone to run down to Dollar General and buy you new underwear and jeans, dress, or whatever, providing you made it out.Vrede too wrote:It's no surprise that wusses like you are so frightened of the world they need to have guns to desperately compensate.
Ut-oh, Seth Milner now thinks that responding to "his" posts about me is "stalking". Looks like the new underwear need is all "his". What a pansy!
Anyhow, this is all just cowardly deflection from:
As is "his" habit of deleting everything that makes "him" uncomfortable when replying - cowardly.Vrede too wrote:Recap:
Gunhugging Seth Milner volunteered something stupid about gun law.
Sometime Lefty called him on it.
Too stupid to check first, Seth Milner attacked Sometime Lefty.
Attorney and gun owner O Really schooled Seth Milner.
Seth Milner’s delicate ego prevents “him” from having the balls to admit Sometime Lefty was correct and apologize.
Seth Milner whines, “What made it your business what type of permits I have?” when it was Seth Milner, without ever having been asked about it, that made it our business by volunteering something stupid about gun law in open forum.
Seth Milner is such a pansy as to ask, “Right about what?” when “he” had already acknowledged O Really’s schooling of "him" on gun law.
Seth Milner is so frightened of the world that "he" carries in convenience stores, drug stores and Dollar General.
As always, rather than facing "his" flub like an adult, Seth Milner desperately does everything "he" can to deflect from it by projecting "his" own whining upon me.
Kudos, Seth Milner does more to prove the ignorant, moronic, delicate, whiny, irresponsible and cowardly nature of ammosexuals than I could ever hope to.

Re: Gun Legislation
I'm a labor attorney, Seth - that line of work often comes with hazards. And way back in the day I was a grunt for La Raza Unida. But in my case, threats have been short-lived. That is, nobody has said "I'm going to track you down and kill you." It's been more a spur of the moment thing. But as I've said several times, personal security measures should be dependent on the risk or threat. If you've got enough enemies to be concerned about, carry on. My condescension is for those who have no real threat in their life, but for whom carrying a firearm is like playing cowboy or cops and robbers.Seth Milner wrote:. How conveniently you forget. Perhaps you forgot my post earlier in November:Vrede too wrote:It's either not real at all or he's an idiot for telling us his real name and where he lives.O Really wrote:... If you've got enough enemies to be concerned about, carry on....
"I exposed corruption; the real stuff. I could go into further detail but for my safety, I shall not divulge. You have my real name, not the pseudonym I used while working." As I once posted, my real name is Seth Miller, no biggie. Everyone I worked with knew me under an assumed name, as did others I worked with. None of us knew the other's real identities; safer that way. So, tell us Vrede too, what your real name? Or are you too wussy or too much of a pansy to tell us? Perhaps because "the threat of violence is ever-present and the reality is frequent" ? You're a big boy now, remember? Why should you fear violence or even the thought of it?
Your posts remind me of a puffer fish. Ever see one? They're poison, they spew, they puff up to twice their size. . .

Re: Gun Legislation
That's stupid in so many ways.
No one would have that much trust in the security of a muckraking author's pseudonym. It's not like you're deep cover CIA.
Seth Miller is a very common name, if it is really yours. Mine isn't.
The risks I face daily at work are immediate. No one is going to track me down.
Same thing with my avocation. I'm not a big enough player in direct action politics anymore to acquire a stalker like Mr.B from it. If I'm gonna get hurt, it will be during or soon after an action.
Why should I fear violence or even the thought of it? Fear is the wrong word but - drunks, druggies, psychos, domestic abusers, criminals, upset family (not to mention disease and accidents), cops, security, military, workers, aggrieved cons. Good enough?
My guess is that you did piss some people off, but none so much that it's an excuse to be armed in convenience stores, drug stores and Dollar Generals now.
Anyhow, this tangent is all just your cowardly deflection from the above.

Re: Gun Legislation
Talk about "cowardly deflection". . or should I say cowardly remanufacturing and/or twisting of someone else remarks? I said nothing of my being armed in convenience stores, drug stores and Dollar Generals; I mentioned your being in a convenience or drug store during a robbery in which you'd probably shit your jeans and run to Dollar General for new clothes. You took that and ran with it like a child with a stolen toy; twisting and rewriting it's meaning. Dumb lie and dumb fail. Now, whine some more about me, liar. You say I'm "entertaining"; I'll give you this; you can hold your own in an argument, but I'm willing to bet that your "friends" here inwardly find you as a twisting, lying, boor; and most likely secretly find your tactics distasteful and nasty. Fantasizing about you? Hardly. Laughing at your ridiculousness? Most definitely.Vrede too wrote:My guess is that you did piss some people off, but none so much that it's an excuse to be armed in convenience stores, drug stores and Dollar Generals now.
Again. . . so that this might sink in your condescending, narcissistic skull, I "delete" those parts/paragraphs of your ramblings that I do not wish to comment on. It's your condescending, narcissistic nature that feels everyone should include all parts/paragraphs of your posts when replying to you, you poor, insecure, paranoid, attention-seeking, cowardly little child.Vrede too wrote:As is "his" habit of deleting everything that makes "him" uncomfortable when replying - cowardly.

Who cares? The political gun debate doesn't interest me one bit. Why should it you? You don't even live in the U.S., so why sit there on your computer and blow smoke out your ass? The thread is about guns, but the above discussion isn't about guns.

Your gun-in-every-school-locker problem overflows in to Canada. Whenever there's a gun crime here, inevitably the gun is traced back to the US.Seth Milner wrote:Who cares? I'm sure it is, but it's not my problem, Doc, I have/had no part in other gun issues.
Sorry if you don't like thinking about guns.
Unlike you and screaming liberals here, I don't make guns my every waking moment priority. The only gun I'm concerned with is my own.

I see, when discussing your personal arms you fantasized about what I would do during an armed robbery and that was not a clear implication that you would be armed and do something different. Do you have any clue how stupid that is? The only question is were you stupid when you first posted or are you being stupid now in backtracking?
“liar”?
Projecting again. Find a single supposed lie of mine. This should be good. Oh, that’s right, you say shit like that and then run shrieking from the challenge every single time, pansy. In contrast, there are dozens of your lies that you’ve run away from.
My friends here are perfectly capable of griefing me when they think I’m wrong. There’s not one that I haven’t posted to when I think they’re wrong. You live in your own “special” fantasyland.
Seth Milner translated, minus the infantile whining: Again. . . I "delete" those parts/paragraphs of your posts that I do not wish to comment on because I’ve screwed up and don’t have the balls to admit it.
For example, this entire tangent is all just your cowardly deflection from not being able to admit that Sometime Lefty was correct and your attack on him was idiotic.

Re: Gun Legislation
It's more scary that 80% of the firearms used in the better known mass killings were legally obtained than if the evil doers had had to work a bit harder to get them under shelter of darkness, deceit or theft. As to the pipe bomb red herring, pipe bombs are illegal, along with a lot of other explosives. I wonder how the number of people killed in a year by pipe bombs compares to the number killed by firearms. I'd be surprised if it weren't a lot smaller.
