A recent exampleof the stories being marginalised can be found in the crucial swing state of Ohio. The US Supreme Court just turned down an appeal from the Republican Secretary of State, Jon Husted, who was trying to shut down early voting.

Husted responded by limiting the hours for voting on the days he was forced to let people vote, to a total of 16 hours over three days. The state enacted an early voting law - signed by a Republican governor - in 2006, following a catastrophic failure in the 2004 elections, which saw some people waiting in lines for more than 10 hours on election day, with tens of thousands estimated to have given up.

If you have to wait 10 hours to vote there already is a problem with THAT system and it should be addressed.
I have gone by the early voting over on Spartanburg Hwy. a few times and the line was out the door and they do have a sheriff directing traffic. But I have never waited more then 15-20 minutes on election day anyplace in my life.
