Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I really don't understand why anybody would even question that it's Republicans who've screwed up on gun laws and many other issues. It's not like they're hiding what they do, or denying it. Hell, they're proud of it. Even total state-wreckers like Brownback and Walker brag about their havoc. Walker was going to use his prowess at beating up teachers as part of his campaign for President. NC legislators aren't the least bit ashamed of teacher pay being in last place in the states. Alabama legislators claim with a straight face that closing DMV's doesn't affect voter rights. C'mon, Seth. They want the credit. Why would you take it away from them?

To be fair, many Dems have also done the NRA's bidding, either out of agreement or fear.

They do. The NRA ijs willing to buy members from any party member. However, these Missouri-type laws are not passed by Dem majority legislatures.

Slate: Virginia Tightens Gun Restrictions a Teensy-Weensy Bit Triggering GOP Meltdown Reflex

(Virginia makes it so out-of-state concealed handgun permit holders must meet in-state standard for license.)
The state of Virginia ever so slightly tightened its gun laws on Tuesday by ending reciprocity agreements on concealed handgun permits with 25 other states that allowed individuals licensed elsewhere to carry a concealed handgun in Virginia. The reasoning behind the change is pretty straightforward: The 25 states grant concealed weapon permits to people that don’t meet Virginia’s legal standard—like felons, convicted stalkers, and drug dealers.

You're absolutely certain about that? You sure didn't grasp my explaining my licensing long before there was CCL, CCP, CCW, or whatever you wish to call it. NTIRGADWYT. Oh yeah; and Something Left lost something too.

Virginia just did what many other states have already been doing - not having reciprocity agreements with anybody who doesn't have the same or higher standards than they have. That's why a Florida (or whatever) license isn't good in 50 states.

If the GOP and their NRA owners really wanted to fix the problem, they'd push for a national license, with universal standards, good everywhere in the USA.

"I'd all you got?" And just who handed me my ass? If you're referring to Something Left, all he/she did was point out that nowadays there is no difference in CCL, CCW, CCP, or licenses. No big deal; he/she and Vrede too just tried to make it one. Fail. Welcome to their failure.

It does look like he's finally admitted that he was completely wrong on the topic he volunteered, but the pansy is still running away from admitting he was completely wrong to attack you for pointing out that he was completely wrong. Most of us were taught personal responsibility, unlike sackless Seth Milner.

Ok, I was wrong. I made a statement that Somethy stated it's definitions have been changed; and also expressed his desire to have anal sex with me; and because I retaliated in my reply to him, I "attacked"© him. Bad ol me! As for personal responsibility, you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground about personal responsibility; you weren't taught any.
