Some Silly Fun

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Some Silly Fun

Want some good laughs? We all hate telemarketers, don't we?

Watch/listen how some have turned the tables on these annoying creatures!

Annoying Telemarketers

(note: some contain language, but you're used to that here)

Plenty of informative links too!

Who in the world has ever bought anything from a telemarketer, I always wondered that.

If I answer at all, I will either tell them I am right in the middle of cooking something and ask them for their home phone number so I can call them back later, or I will tell them that their boss is here with me now, and we were just discussing your poor closing rate these past few months and wondering what to do about it.

I don't doubt you guys do what you say, but it's real clear that telemarketing sells a lot of stuff. Otherwise, they'd quit doing it. It's not like it's a cheap way to solicit sales - even using Indians.

Your video is in that link I posted.

When a number appears on my caller ID that I do not recognize, I answer the phone with something like "Electrical Supply Company, how may I direct your call?". They usually hang up. If it's a recording, I hang up.

I like to blow a really loud whistle into the phone, but that's not always practical in a business setting. (No more land line at the house, thank goodness.)
I generally simply hang up. However, if I'm in a crabby mood, I relentlessly insist they tell me on whose behalf they are calling, ask if they are my <whatever> provider, maybe ask if they are familiar with NC's telemarketing laws. That usually inspires them to hang up.

Things have gotten much better. I think they must have if a woman answers, hang up next to our number. If they ask for the hubs, the legit callers will identify themselves. If not, I enjoy playing the role of no-nonsense assistant to High Powered Guy. You have to go through me to get to him. If nothing else, it entertains him to listen.

Fun is where you find it.
