Re: 2016 Elections
IF Bernie wins the nomination, it'll be ironic that he was the one that focused on Bill Clinton's mantra: "It's the economy, stupid."
IF Bernie becomes POTUS, it'll be ironic if some of the piles of money he's getting is from Republicans that fear facing Hillary.

Re: 2016 Elections
I saw the 2nd video during SNL, thought it might be a spoof mocking Cruz. Then, I found the 1st video after reading about it in the article. It's creepier than any spoof could be. I just don't get the GOP, ads like these would make me not vote for a candidate no matter how much I otherwise liked her or him. There are limits.

Re: 2016 Elections
So, the leading GOP candidate:
Trump says George W. Bush ‘lied’ to get U.S. into Iraq
Then, also at the Greenville, SC Peace Center debate, one GOP candidate dissed another one for not being fluent enough in Spanish while another Spanish fluent candidate belly laughed in the background.

Debate? Hardly. The entire program was reminiscent of a playground quarrel amongst a group of third graders. The whole lot of Republican contenders are the most pathetic I can ever recall; and to think each of them hopes to be the leader of our country. God help us.

Well, according to some of the ummmm "candidates," God was the one who told them to run. I'm guessing God must be a Dem.Seth Milner wrote:Debate? Hardly. I think it would depend on which god or God they were listening to.O Really wrote:Well, according to some of the ummmm "candidates," God was the one who told them to run. Nobody ever admits there is more than one God, do they? If there's a choice, I'll take the one who thinks Republicans are spawns of Satan.Seth Milner wrote:I think it would depend on which god or God they were listening to.O Really wrote:Well, according to some of the ummmm "candidates," God was the one who told them to run. No, just one, but have a lot of skepticism. The Bible says to not have any other gods (Gods). Later writings define gods as what one puts in order of importance in their lives. Currently, my most important thing is the ability to awaken each morning.Vrede too wrote:Maybe Seth Milner is a polytheist, nttawwt.

I don't think they have three; I believe it's three in one; they call it a Trinity.billy.pilgrim wrote: don't the Christians have 3. they just say that they are all smushed together

Re: 2016 Elections
Early Christianity had a number of conflicting views on the nature of Christ. Mortal man, son of God, God herself, whole new god, etc. After 300 years the Council of Nicea chose the Trinity version. Other versions were suppressed, their Biblical books burned, their followers exiled or worse.billy.pilgrim wrote:don't the Christians have 3. they just say that they are all smushed together
The Old Testament has a few scattered references to the religion's polytheistic roots.

Good ol' religious logic.Seth Milner wrote:O Really wrote: Nobody ever admits there is more than one God, do they? Can't be both; has to be either one, or three, or Sybil.

Can't say for sure; that's over my head. I'm fairly certain there's no Sybil involved though.O Really wrote: Good ol' religious logic. Can't be both; has to be either one, or three, or Sybil.

Re: 2016 Elections
Any God capable of creating the universe surely ought to be able to appear as anything it wanted to. But that's not what the Christian mythology says. It requires a suspension of belief in what we understand as the difference in one entity and multiple entities. If we believe "God" sent "his only son" to Earth, then either God was totally occupied for 33 years being Jesus, or God is not one being, but more than one. So if we further count the dead Jesus as another incarnation, then during the time Jesus was theoretically "dead", nobody would have been tending the universe. So if there is "God the Father" and "God the Son" and "God the dead Son" that's three, that according to the mythology have been in different places at different (or the same) times.Seth Milner wrote:Can't say for sure; that's over my head.
