Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Lotta noise coming from that compensatory gun closet.

Don't forget same conditions for the gunowner as the driver, but we all know that gunhuggers would pitch a fit about both.
rstrong wrote:14.5 deaths per 100,000 was the death rate for all passenger cars combined, around a decade ago. But automobile death rates have fallen since then, to the point where there are more gun deaths than automobile deaths. When this fact made the news in December, the reaction from the NRA crowd was predictable. Including lots of images like Seths.

No, it was created for gullible submorons to waste their time researching in order to debunk it in a forum.
I think you resemble that; don't you?

I don't think jail would be an appropriate sentence. As we have discussed, the US has way too many people locked up unnecessarily. But I'd like her to be charged/convicted with a felony so that she loses her guns. Problem is, leaving a gun around for the kiddies is just a misdemeanor in gun-happy Florida anyway.
Hard to argue with that.

Don't you just love headline writers... "The Gun-Advocate Mom Who Was Shot by Her Toddler Is Now Facing a Prison Sentence"

Real story: she hasn't even been charged yet, though the sheriff says "she should be." Maximum penalty if charged and if convicted - 180 days in jail.

Still, on balance, it's good news.

Also, a toddler is a child between the ages of one and three. Four is a preschooler. Sheriff’s Capt. Gator DeLoach (great name!) and the headline writer got it wrong.

No indication whatsoever of the political views, if any, of the headline writer. Nor, for that matter, did the headline have a particular political perspective. It was just wrong on its facts and not consistent with the article. Poor writing whether liberal, conservative, or neutered.

Funny, you would think that an "investigative journalist" would be able to comprehend, "No indication whatsoever of the political views," and would know all that about headline writers. Instead, he is just a whiny, partisan moron, again.

Plus, none of us have ever denied that liberals post shit sometimes, "vehemently" or otherwise. In fact, we've all contributed to Seth Milner's own Shit that Liberals Believe thread. Seth Milner is an idiotic liar, again.

Now, cue the whining about me rather than manning up for his two flubs and a lie, as usual.

Boy, 4, shot in head with gun left in car while mother was shopping at Birmingham market

A 4-year-old boy was shot in the head Thursday night with a gun left in a car while his mother was inside a store.

... Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Bryan Shelton said the mother left her children in the car. One of the children, believed to be the boy's older sister, found the gun, picked it up and it discharged.

Shelton said the bullet grazed the boy's skull but did not enter the skull. He is listed in stable condition at Children's of Alabama.

"If you choose to own a gun you have to be safety minded and exercise a higher standard of care,'' Shelton said. "We're glad he's OK."

Shelton said no charges are expected in the case.
"no charges" for not exercising "a higher standard of care"??? I guess it's just a normal shopping trip in gunhugging Alabama.

Aside: Once had a patient that had been shot in the head. The bullet tracked through the scalp but outside the skull, exited, skipped over his spine and lodged in his scapula area.

I can think of several alabama laws she broke

The comments to this article are incredible.

Not likely. The CPAC convention was held in a gun-free zone, and Republicans saw no hypocrisy, no sir, none at all, with this.

The NRA had no problem with it. These days they're kept on a short leash by the Republican Party, only erupting in sanctimonious outrage when it's convenient for the party.
