The LEO thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Seems some state Supreme Courts have more to do than others. In Maine, the worst criminal in the state is in the Governor's chair, but the Supreme Court can still rule on the great "bra escape."

Update:
Ex-Oklahoma reserve deputy sentenced to 4 years in killing

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A former Oklahoma volunteer sheriff's deputy who said he mistook his handgun for his stun gun when he fatally shot an unarmed suspect last year was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison.

A judge gave Robert Bates, 74, the maximum penalty recommended by jurors who last month convicted the wealthy insurance executive of second-degree manslaughter....

I'm like the reporter; there's got to be more to that story; such as the "loud and mouthy" suggestion. It's the way of the world.
However, there's still that being in the lot of the glass repair business.

My guess -guess - is despite where he was when he actually stopped, that clearly he had been driving with the broken windshield. Probably a slow day at the cop shop or he was running short his quota.

The video said it was the day after it got broken, but the cop wouldn't know one way or the other. Couldn't have been following him long if he pulled him over in the glass shop lot where and when he had an appt. Still, I've gotten "fix-it" tickets when I wasn't on my way to fix it, yet. Bet the judge voids the ticket, if the cop's boss or the D.A. doesn't first.

Yeah, and the headline is a little misleading. Being in the parking lot is not exactly "as he's getting it fixed." Still unreasonable ticket, though.

So pulling into the restaurant parking lot when the blue lights go on behind you is "having lunch?" Hey, I'm not defending the copy, whom I suspect is a certified card-carrying prick. I'm just saying that it appears from the vid to be coincidental that the cop pulled him over about where the shop was. It wasn't like he was already in the parking lot or the shop was working on his car.

It wasn't coincidental, he had an appointment, as the cop could have verified or did verify and wrote the ticket, anyhow..

I know he had an appointment. I mean it was coincidence the cop happened to see him just before he got there. The cop had numerous choices. He chose to be a hard-ass jerk, apparently.
