What kind of cell phone do you have?
I've always used Blackberry but am dropping it for an Android device.

I have both an Android and a Windows Phone 7. Love the Android, hate the Microsoft abortion of a phone.

I currently have the motorola razr with verizon service. it does appear to be water resistant - at least it was when that freak wave soaked all my stuff. good screen size. I recommend forgetting the case and using the docking station - I have one on the night stand and one at my desk - great tools for calendar, clock, alarm, timers, lists, notices, etc.
glad to see you thinking about moving up; suppermanager once said that anyone still using a blackberry is an idiot (granted, he was referring to obama and wouldn't have said it if he knew he used one).

Can not believe this subject has come up. I am now as we speak switching BACK to my old NON SMART phone and have just argued with Verizon. I went back to my 5 year old GZOne by Casio which has been thru a tiller, wash and in the pool a few times. I hadn't had a contract in years and one of their salesfolks talked me into the Commando which I figure is Android based, I have had it since July and it has never worked more then 2-3 day at a time so I am going back to the ole non smart phone.

I used it solely on email push, that's no longer a competitive advantage. I feel like Blackberry is going to go away before too long.billy.pilgrim wrote:I currently have the motorola razr with verizon service. it does appear to be water resistant - at least it was when that freak wave soaked all my stuff. good screen size. TracFone. No contract, no monthly fees. They use the big name wireless networks. No fancy gizmos or gimmicks, no Smart Phones, 4G's, or complicated garbage; some models do have cameras and Web. Use for what cell phones were intended. Buy a phone for as little as $10, if it breaks, chuck it and get another; no great investment lost.

gotta disagree with scooter; once you start using all the features, it would be tough to be without. great for maps, to make sure the garmin isn't trying to send you the long or wrong way.
things like scanner apps that convert pictures to pdf and email them or store in documents.
and for fun, google sky is great

I carry both my personal phone ..a HTC Droid .. and company phone .. an iPhone.. Our company recently switched from Blackberry to iPhone ..
I like the Droid better (seems more intuitive..) than the iPhone (too Apple'ish .we are smart and you are stupid) and the Blackberry least..

Blackberry. The iPhone is better in many ways, but the Blackberry still beats it as a communications device. (phone, messaging, email)

Blackberry Storm II. Got it on the day sales opened, not particularly by choice but because my earlier version Bberry died and Enterprise was all the firm supported at the time. Now it's about three years old or so and a bit dated, but it's OK and does have good features, as Billy noted. Next, though, probably Galaxy III.

I had the GZone for years and years. It went in the pool several times at the hands of my Huskies. The people at Verizon talked me into switching to a Samsung ruggadized phone of some sort and I have hated ever since I bought it. Would give anything to go back to my GZone. And it was orange so you can't argue with that!

So, I am the only one with experience with Microsoft's mobile platform?

I can verify those bad reviews. Windows Phone 8 has been announced, but it's hard to see how it can improve over '7. And it's a shame, because no platform is perfect. I'd like to see a serious competitor to iOS and Android.gongoozler wrote:So far it seems. It will be intersting to see how Win8 mobile can make Win7 Mobile better.AntiAlias wrote:I can verify those bad reviews. I share your lament about wanting a challenger to iOS but, sadly, as a mobile platform, I'm quite entrenched in iOS6.
I will be checking out Win8 Mobile once it's out ... I've never played with an Android Device but everyone I know that has one raves about 'em.
