And even then she's no more corrupt - and often a lot less - than ANYONE in the 2012 or 2016 Republican clown cars.
Oh hell! Another email scandal!

What, you believe that Hillary personally ran the DNC email servers?

Or if you refer to the party leadership having a preference for one candidate, just consider that in 2000 anyone running for office as a Republican was given what was essentially a loyalty oath, stipulating that they would support George W. Bush in the forthcoming primaries exclusively, and not McCain, and if they didn't agree, the Party would withhold its financing from their election bid. Not to mention RNC leadership opposition to Trump.

You were responding to a quote about Hillary. You even quoted it.

Sadly, for you that's not even a record for quickly forgetting and contradicting what you just wrote.

The Dems, Trump and the Republicans are all corrupt corporate suck-ups. Sadly, we have to base our votes on other factors.

So far, understanding that we'll never be unanimous on each item, the list includes:

She's better than Trump (or any other Republican).
Tried to get us single payer healthcare 25 years ago, and took a truckload of unwarranted personal heat for it.
Once having left Arkansas she never went back ("probably" a positive for her and Arkansas).
Hillary has the most directly applicable professional experience of most any other Presidential candidate, ever. And in all those jobs, she has done a competent job.
Building relationships and bridges. Hillary understands that.
Will try to overturn Citizens United and increase transparency in campaign funding.
Really no worse than Colin Powell and really, really no worse than Jeb! :P
Corrupt but competent, not slimy and shoddy. :D
Good DNC speaker lineup.
Fluent in Spanish VP.
So I'm probably more Hillary-tolerant than most others here, and I think she''ll be a good President, warts or not. But in looking at the list and looking at the election in context, why does she actually need anything more than not being Trump? Trump has gotten worse, not better, since the start of the primaries. He's said things no reasonable person would believe to be serious and then doubled up on them the next week. He's totally ignorant of how government works and doesn't show the least bit of interest or intent to learn about what he doesn't know - or really even to hire anybody who does.

But this isn't the bash-Trump thread, it's the Hillary thread. And it really doesn't matter if she's the Devil's concubine or if she's the reincarnation of Tammany Hall, it's her or Trump. Pick one.

We're all gonna get in debates about her over the next few months, so let's list what they are besides 'She's better than Trump (or any other Republican)' - perhaps the most important thing, but a pretty low bar to set....
"She's better than Trump" won't be sufficient in all debates.

I think it's a reasonable assumption that Hillary knew that the supposedly neutral DNC was acting on her behalf, whether or not she was involved with the specifics.

In 1995 Walmart Thought the Idea of a Woman President Was Against Its ‘Family Values’

Walmart is the latest to be exposed for its questionable ways, thanks to one professor with a long memory and, well, receipts.

Professor Nick Kapur tweeted excerpts from a 1995 Associated Press article published in the Tuscaloosa News about a Walmart store in Miami pulling a T-shirt from shelves. Why? Because they featured “Dennis the Menace” character Margaret, and read, “Someday a woman will be president.”

Image
The shirt in question. (Photo: Etsy)

According to the article, the store nixed the shirt after a lone customer complained about it. The woman who designed the shirts, Ann Moliver Ruben, noted that a buyer for Walmart told her that the shirt “goes against Walmart’s family values.” (Because the only part of the White House a woman belongs in is the kitchen, amirite? Ugh.)

Ruben, a Florida-based psychologist said she designed the shirt to have a positive message for young girls. Thankfully, the shirt was later put back on the shelves after a backlash from women’s groups.

Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton became the first woman in American history to be nominated for president by a major political party. The Walmart of 1995 might be oh so offended at such a historical occasion, but that’s the great thing about society moving forward: We can look back on the past and realize just how dumb we were — and how far we’ve come.

The Hidden Message in Hillary Clinton’s All-White Pantsuit

... The suffragettes who fought so tirelessly for women to gain the right to vote 100 years ago notably wore all white during their protests to demand that this constitutional right be applied not just to men. Many on social media were quick to point out that surely Clinton knows this — and wore white in part to honor those who fought for the vote, the original crack in that highest glass ceiling, now shattered....
I didn't notice the clothes, maybe because I only watched while she was behind the lectern and didn't see the entrance or exit, but I thought she looked as good as I've seen her in a long time.

Fwiw, I won't say "shattered" unless she wins.

Almost. Years ago a national CBC radio show held a contest to find Canada's equivalent of "As American as apple pie."

The winner: "As Canadian as possible under the circumstances."
