Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I don't mock beliefs. I mock hypocritical and harmful beliefs.

I watched The Revenant last night (well, so far, the first half anyway).

I gotta say, this is probably one of the most beautifully filmed movies I've ever seen. If you like the outdoors check it out.

Let's discuss some cinema, shall we?

Has anybody seen that movie "Big" starring Tom Hanks?

Long story short, a kid is granted a wish to be an adult. Kid wakes up as an adult and has to learn how to be an adult.

Well, the one thing that's bothered me is how the kid/adult gets into a relationship with some woman old enough to be his mom. Tom Hank's character is only physically an adult. Mentally/emotionally, he's still a child.

Problems:
  • - Wouldn't most people think Tom Hank's to be somewhat autistic, because if it were twelve year old me being turned into an adult they surely would have.
    - What does all this say about Tom Hank's girlfriend in the movie? She basically slept with a kid...
    - When Tom Hanks turns back into his younger self and his girlfriend witnesses the process, do you think the realization she was messing around with a kid caused her some severe psychological issues?
Similar, in the "Truman Show", Truman has a wife who's really a paid actor. As his wife, I'm assuming they've done the nasty together etc.. What kind of twisted actor would consent to manipulating some random dude's emotions for a paycheck. Well, actually I think that's fairly common so nevermind

\_(ツ)_/¯

Bad link, you left off the 2nd paren.

Samsara (2011 film)

Looks good.

Did Tom Hanks bring out the kid in her uptight self, thus making it two twelve-year-olds fooling around? I don't know, could just be creepy. Think he always went for cougars after that?

Do you think Tom Hanks after being turned back into a 12 year old, utilized the game he learned as an adult to have an affair with one of his teachers?

This film has taken a dark turn.

I think he and Susan said the heck with it and hooked up 2 weeks later. Then, Paul kills both of them and himself. Hence, no sequel.

They are making a passion of the Christ sequel, titled God's Wrath.

It takes place in the distant future when cyborg Jesus returns to a decadent earth that has lost its ways to the devil. It's being marketed as a superhero movie where Jesus battles it out with the Antichrist, starring Al Pacino.

Praise RoboJesus!

Stay out of trouble. Dead or alive, you're coming with me. Come quietly or there will be... trouble.

"distant future"?

For example, The Passion of the Christ, Gibson's Bible snuff flick largely skipping over Jesus' message of peace, tolerance, compassion and generosity, and the fundies that adored it.

I found this movie analysis of Machine Gun Preacher:

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comment ... _preacher/
In Machine Gun Preacher there is a scene where he calls his wife and she is in a grocery store, there are nothing but eggs for like 32 feet of the store, then again on another wall.
Response:
I don't understand what's the purpose of this post, but I upvoted it because I think you're high.

Grizzly Man

Wow. What an amazing documentary. I went in thinking it would be a flick about a dude living with grizzly bears, ended up being a documentary about narcissism, salvation, and an individual sick of the BS of modern life.
