The homophobic thread :>

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Or Jesus raising the dead, parting of the Red Sea, Elijah sucked up by a whirlwind, God created the Earth, a talking snake, a fallen angel, the Great Flood, the ark, etc, etc, etc.

I have problems with those accounts, but there's faith . . . ask any Christian; not me.

and then there are pieces of shit who fuck with little children's ability to have faith

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_Hovind

this piece of shit set up a dino-land type theme park in Pensacola. Being a real piece of shit, piece of shit Kent Hovine began by giving free tickets to pre-schools for his themed fun park (did I mention that he is a piece of shit) called Dinosaur Adventure Land. The literature described rides and games – loads of kiddie fun. The owner of the day-care didn’t know much more, but had told the kids and they were excited. I signed the permission form. My 3 year old son went.

It took several years of careful discussions to help my son understand that Dr. Dino was a lying piece of shit who used lies and deceit to trick children into believing ignorant fairy tales about men walking with dinosaurs but couldn’t fit them on the fucking (story stolen from the Persians) ark. I still hold this grudge.

This type of ignorance should have died out long ago.

Oh, did I mention, this piece of shit and his piece of shit wife went to prison – seems the IRS didn’t go along with why they were making all the $9,000.00 deposits, but weren’t paying taxes on god’s money. As a felon, he will not be allowed to vote for thumper.

Kent Hovind: Politics and conspiracies

Hovind has made controversial remarks regarding conspiracies, science, creation, equal rights, religion, and government. His presentations on creationism and evolution are a mix of Christian Fundamentalism and conspiracy theories. His creationist presentations have asserted that creationism is not taught in public schools due to a New World Order conspiracy, established by Satan and involving Ted Turner and Jane Fonda, the British Royal Family, the State of Israel, the American Civil Liberties Union (which he calls "the American Communist Lawyers Union"), U.S. government officials, business leaders, and social activists. In May 1999, he claimed "the implementation of the NWO's world-domination plan was May 5, 2000."

Hovind has several conspiracy theories about the U.S. government. He has claimed that the U.S. government was behind the 9/11 attacks and the Oklahoma City bombing. Regarding UFOs, Hovind recommends books by conspiracy theorists who believe "some UFO's are U.S. Government experiments with electrogravitic propulsion as opposed to jet propulsion, while others are Satanic apparitions." The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) criticized Hovind for referring followers to books by Irwin Schiff, a tax protester who has been convicted of tax evasion multiple times. The SPLC has criticized Hovind for "point[ing] his followers to Citizens Rule Book, popular among antigovernment 'Patriots', and to Media Bypass, an antigovernment magazine with strong antisemitic leanings", and for selling of books such as Des Griffin's Fourth Reich of the Rich and Peter Kershaw's In Caesar's Grip, and recommending The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a well-known antisemitic hoax.

Hovind claims that the cyanide-releasing compound laetrile is a "cancer cure" which the U.S. government is conspiring to suppress and that diseases including HIV, Gulf war syndrome, Crohn's colitis, and rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's were engineered by "the money masters and governments of the world" for the purpose of global economic domination. He has denounced democracy as "evil and contrary to God's law", and called global warming a communist conspiracy.

In his lectures, he claimed that the United States government was implanting pet-tracking microchips into people allowing them to be tracked by satellite, even though the transponder range made that impossible. On his website, Hovind associated the UPC bar code with the Mark of the Beast, and wrote that there were reports of people paying for groceries by having their hands scanned in 1999.

Ridicule is fine for these idiots until they start messing with children, especially my kid. Kent Hovine is a piece of shit who molest children's minds with this crap. This piece of shit went around to unsupecting day care centers with free tickets for the kiddies. I still hold a serious grudge and I will begin to kick this piece of shit's ass if I ever run into him.

Indiana Case Raises RFRA To Justify Child Abuse

An Indiana mother is claiming that religion can be used to justify abusing her child.

Kin Park Thaing, an Indianapolis resident, is hoping to use the state's Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) as a defense to charges of child abuse. She was charged with battery and neglect of a dependent after her seven-year-old son’s teacher discovered 36 deep welts and bruises on his body in February. She hit him with a plastic hanger, saying she acted on her religious beliefs to punish him.

The Indiana RFRA, signed into law by vice-presidential hopeful Gov. Mike Pence just last year, generated enormous national controversy. Most of the outrage was based on the fact that it was aimed at allowing discrimination against LGBT people. At the same time, though, the county prosecutor warned that RFRA could be used in cases like these. This week he explained, "We predicted this was exactly was going to happen, is individuals would assert their religious freedom to justify what is clearly criminal conduct.” ...

I really don't understand McCrory at all. He was actually pretty decent as mayor of Charlotte. Generally popular and kept getting elected in a Dem town. Ran for governor saying, in part, he wouldn't support changing any existing abortion laws and promising (paraphrased) to be a middle of the road Republican. That didn't last long. But I can see why he was in a bind when the idiot legislature passed HB2. They had a veto-proof majority so if he vetoed it, he'd just get overturned. His choice was (a) veto it, alienate a bunch of the legislative idiots and have it go into effect anyway or (b) sign it and hope it's not going to cause the same problems as Indiana got with its "religious freedom" bill. Opps. But that was then. Why is he still trying to ride that dog? Why isn't he acknowledging that "well-intended" or not, the law has been disastrous for the state (as well as for him and some of his cohorts). Why continue to joust with a windmill that's clearly going to kick your ass and probably get you booted out of office? Crazy stupid.

It doesn't matter whether the general population is Democrat or Republican. What matters is those who actually vote.

When you hear about a 55% voter turn-out, you can be certain that senior citizens were greatly over-represented. Voter turnout among those in their 20s in a mid-term election is around 21 percent. Seniors are what count in an election, and they're much more conservative.

(Again, this "conservative value" is temporary. Take same-sex marriage for example. *THE* issue not long ago, it disappeared once Mike Huckabee buggered off. Polls show that a majority of Americans support it, and demographics show that the majority will only increase. Prominent Republicans like George and Barbara Bush and Dick Cheney support it. The Republican Party will soon be The Party That Defends Same-Sex Rights, And Always Has. As before, that'll expand to other civil rights.)

I liked elements of his 2008 platform and history more than I did Bev Perdue's. I'm pretty sure that I voted Libertarian. My bad.

Your bad, indeed. You threw away a vote that, along with the others wasted, would have made a difference. Or maybe not - since Perdue didn't run, Walter Who didn't have much chance anyway.

Meanwhile, the ACC has moved Championships out, too...

Perdue won without me. I've voted GOP, but never for such a high office.

:D I couldn't remember his name - Walter Dalton. I don't know how I voted in 2012, maybe Libertarian again. McCrory won 55%–43%.

Wow.

15 members

Public & private.
Only 5 Northern schools, including Louisville, 10 Southern ones.
Military academy heritage Clemson.
Senior Military College Virginia Tech.
Methodist heritage Syracuse & Duke.
Catholic Notre Dame & Boston College.
Baptist heritage Wake Forest.
4 NC schools, only VA with 2 has more than 1 school in the ACC.

You know they wouldn't have been so bold if the vote was close, I'd guess consensus or near consensus. What a huge slap in the face to McCrory and the bigots, possibly the biggest yet.

Oh yeah - I forgot McCrory ran in 2008. That would have been the first election we were eligible for in NC, so we didn't really know anybody. More interested in national than state anyway. Just clicked the "D" ticket and moved on.

:D I had forgotten McCrory didn't win in 2008 and that he'd run against someone - what was his name? ;) - in 2012. It seems hard to squeeze the disaster he has been into just 4 years.

They're using the power of the almighty dollar to force the American people to allow faggots, twat twinkies, gender confused and other freaks of nature the right to watch a little girl or boy take a piss. They're developing a vaccine to rid the Zika virus. Maybe one day something will be developed to dissolve all the above trash from decent society.
