Sorry!
Installed some new database software (postgres) in an emergency to test something for work.... and well.... running mysql and postgresql at the same time definitely uses up some memory...... all of it..... plus some that didn't exist!
I really blame Seth tho, since he was apparently the last poster.
Thanks Vrede, for letting me know, as usual!

How are you liking postgres?
I recently had to work on a project porting over a bunch of code from Oracle to a Postgres based DB.
It's super picky about data types

You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.

Re: We're back!
Just started -- been using M$SQL for years but it's cost prohibitive especially in Azure (It's insane there, I'm mean super insane). Looking forward to using JSONB data types. Hoping to have the best of SQL and NO-SQL in one. The administrative tools are no where near the quality of SSMS :-( Looking at you pgAdmin.JTA wrote:How are you liking postgres?

I couldn't believe how many data types postgres has compared to others. Auto increment columns is type "serial".... ok weird, but I accept it.
None of our sysadmins are very good with linux.... so now I get to setup the linux vm's and postgres..... it's taking me away from my sweet sweet code.
